The A487 Trunk Road (Penglais Road, Aberystwyth, ) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2011

Made 27 May 2011 Coming into force 10 June 2011

The Welsh Ministers, as traffic authority for the - Bangor Trunk Road (A487) (hereinafter referred to as “the trunk road”), in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 84 (1) and (2) and 124 of and paragraph 27 of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1) (“the 1984 Act”) and after consultation with the Chief Officer of for the - Police, make this Order.

1. This Order comes into force on the 10 June 2011 and its title is The A487 Trunk Road (Penglais Road, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2011.

2. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour in that length of the trunk road at Penglais Road, Aberystwyth in the County of Ceredigion that extends from a point 74 metres north east of the centre point of its junction with Dan-Y- Coed to a point 86 metres east of its junction with Maeshendre.

3. The A487 Trunk Road (Penglais Road, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion) (40 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2004 is hereby revoked.

(1) 1984 c.27; Section 84(2) was substituted by the New Roads and Street works Act 1991 (c.22), section 168 and Schedule 8, paragraph 61. By virtue of S.I. 1999/672, article 2 and Schedule 1, and paragraph 30 of Schedule 11 to the Government of Wales Act 2006, these powers are now exercisable by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales.

THE A487 TRUNK ROAD (PENGLAIS ROAD, ABERYSTWYTH, CEREDIGION) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2011

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Welsh Ministers have made an Order under section 84(1) and (2) and 124 of, and paragraph 27 of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which comes into force on 10 June 2011.

The effect of the Order is to impose a 40 mph speed limit on that length of the Fishguard - Bangor Trunk Road (A487) (hereinafter referred to as “the trunk road”) at Penglais Road, Aberystwyth in the County of Ceredigion that extends from a point 74 metres north east of the centre point of its junction with Dan-Y- Coed to a point 86 metres east of its junction with Maeshendre.

During a period of 6 weeks from 8 June 2011, a copy of the Order and associated plan may be inspected free of charge, during normal office hours at the offices of Ceredigion County Council, Canolfan , Rhodfa Padarn, Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth SY23 3UE and at Post Office, Rhoshendre, Waunfawr, Aberystwyth SY23 3QD, or may be obtained free of charge from the address below quoting the reference number CZ510-2-11-qA896439/1.
