MY COUSIN a Documentary Film by Simone Wendel and Mario A MY COUSIN A Documentary Film by Simone Wendel and Mario A. Conte FULL LENGTH DOCUMENTARY FEATURE 90 MIN PRODUCTION COMPANY PROJEKT GOLD WRITER/DIRECTOR SIMONE WENDEL, MARIO CONTE PRODUCERS SIMONE WENDEL, MARIO CONTE CONTACT [email protected] My Cousin is a creative documentary with a difference. Using her family connections and uniquely privileged access, documentarist Simone Wendel has for several years been putting together an intimate portrait of the most famous man in the world, President of the United States, Donald Trump. With Trump’s small town German roots in Kallstadt as her point of departure - already established in her hit documentary Kings of Kallstadt - she probes the perspectives of various family members to build a fascinating picture of this most contradictory of human characters. Wendel’s story begins with two cousins, John and Donald, who became lifelong business partners. We learn about the migrant family structure that influences Trump even today, the bonds that place family members in important positions, the work ethic introduced from the cradle with loyalty paramount. Trump’s is a story of a family business at its best, from “dishwasher to millionaire”. From cousin John’s perspective we learn about the family structure of the Trump empire, the formidable women in the Trump history - who have been ignored on too many occasions, according to Wendel – and the German grandparents’ adventurous story of migration, which laid the foundations for the Trumpian American dream. Wendel explores how an immigrant child became the Donald Trump of today, opening a window on the world of this polarising president in short sequences and drawing a more personal portrait than hitherto possible of one of the most controversial phenomena of modern times. Dreamers and Donald Trump: Anti-Trump Street Art Along the US-Mexico Border Description What tools are at hand for residents living on the US-Mexico border to respond to mainstream news and presidential-driven narratives about immigrants, immigration, and the border region? How do citizen activists living far from the border contend with President Trump’s promises to “build the wall,” enact immigration bans, and deport the millions of undocumented immigrants living in the United States? How do situated, highly localized pieces of street art engage with new media to become creative and internationally resonant sites of defiance? CARGC Paper 11, “Dreamers and Donald Trump: Anti-Trump Street Art Along the US-Mexico Border,” answers these questions through a textual analysis of street art in the border region. Drawing on her Undergraduate Honors Thesis and fieldwork she conducted at border sites in Texas, California, and Mexico in early 2018, former CARGC Undergraduate Fellow Julia Becker takes stock of the political climate in the US and Mexico, examines Donald Trump’s rhetoric about immigration, and analyzes how street art situated at the border becomes a medium of protest in response to that rhetoric.

The guilty one is not he who commits the sin, but the one who causes the darkness. —Victor Hugo, Les Misérables Author’s Note Much of this book comes from my own memory. For events during which I was not present, I relied on conversations and interviews, many of which are recorded, with members of my family, family friends, neighbors, and associates. I’ve reconstructed some dialogue according to what I personally remember and what others have told me. Where dialogue appears, my intention was to re-create the essence of conversations rather than provide verbatim quotes. I have also relied on legal documents, bank statements, tax returns, private journals, family documents, correspondence, emails, texts, photographs, and other records. For general background, I relied on the New York Times, in particular the investigative article by David Barstow, Susanne Craig, and Russ Buettner that was published on October 2, 2018; the Washington Post; Vanity Fair; Politico; the TWA Museum website; and Norman Vincent Peale’s The Power of Positive Thinking. For background on Steeplechase Park, I thank the Coney Island History Project website, Brooklyn Paper, and a May 14, 2018, article on 6sqft.com by Dana Schulz.

  • For Donald Trump™S Family, an Immigrant™S Tale with 2
For Donald Trump’s Family, an Immigrant’s Tale With 2 Beginnings By Jason Horowitz – Aug. 21, 2016 In the middle of the night, Friedrich Trump left his house in Kallstadt, a small town spotted with vineyards and a Lutheran church, for a northern port city that served as Germany’s gateway to America. A few days later, on Oct. 7, 1885, Friedrich, then 16 years old, bought a ticket on the S.S. Eider, the start of an adventurous life as a barber, restaurateur, saloonkeeper, hotelier, entrepreneur, gold rush prospector, shipwreck survivor and New York real estate investor. It was an immigrant tale that would make any family proud. But for decades, the Trumps almost never talked about it. Friedrich Trump’s son, Fred, came of age between the World Wars, a period marked by resentment of and even discrimination toward Germans in the United States. More important, he was marketing his properties to the growing Jewish middle class in central Brooklyn and Queens. During his presidential campaign, Fred’s son Donald has occasionally run roughshod over Jewish sensibilities, notably with a post on Twitter that featured a six-pointed star and a pile of cash. But for many years, the Trumps went out of their way to avoid having problems with their Jewish friends and customers by burying their German identity. They told anyone who asked that they were Swedish. “He had thought, ‘ Gee , I’m not going to be able to sell these homes if there are all these Jewish people,’” said Donald J. Trump’s cousin John Walter, the Trump family historian, who has worked closely with Fred and Donald.

  • 1 Washington Post Interview with Donald Trump April 21, 2016
Washington Post Interview with Donald Trump April 21, 2016 Donald Trump: -- you know, in fact, the next five states. And lots of things can happen now that we're in the politics. But the next five states are the worst I have in terms of polls says I'm 20 points up. That's my worst out of the five. And going from there, I think we're in good shape, so we'll see. And it was very interesting because Cruz said Kasich should absolutely get out. He has no path. Well, now Cruz has no path either because of what happened in New York, so it's sort of good. It's a very corrupt system, though. It's a system that, frankly, shouldn't be allowed. You can buy the presidency. All you have to do is take the delegates, send them down to the most beautiful hotel in the world. You can do anything you want. You're allowed to take, you've been reading this. I think I've exposed, I think I've done something very important. I've exposed a corrupt system that's been in place for many, many decades, and it's a corrupt system. Marc Fisher: It is a private club sort of. Donald Trump: It is, but if you think about it, you can buy the presidency. You take $100 million, you put it aside. You allocate it to delegates, and you've just become president of the United States, and you can lose elections. Like I won 1 Louisiana, and, you know, in all fairness I've been doing this for nine months, you know.

  • CAN MADISON TRUMP TRUMP? “Are We Living in Nazi Germany?” —President Donald Trump Legend Has It That When General Cornwall
328 • Chapter 7 CAN MADISON TRUMP TRUMP? “Are we living in Nazi Germany?” —President Donald Trump Legend has it that when General Cornwallis surrendered to the combined forces of the French and American soldiers at Yorktown in 1781 he ordered the military band to play “The World Turned Upside Down.” This march would have been appropriate music for the 23rd of June 2016 when, to the utter surprise of most political commentators and in contradiction to virtually all public opinion polls, the United Kingdom voted to exit the European Union. This vote, moreover, was a harbinger of arguably the even more shocking election of Donald Trump to the Presidency of the United States later that year. But should either event, however unexpected, have been such a great surprise? What both bombshells have in common is that they signaled a profound distrust of government and dissatisfaction with the globalization status quo by vast numbers of alienated citizens who Donald Trump calls “the forgotten.” The ongoing cel- ebration by elites of the wonders of liberal market globalization was challenged by nationalist politicians and rejected by voters who for years did not feel any positive results of an economic system that, to them, seemed designed primarily to further the interests of the world’s upper classes. In fact, most of the alienated felt signifi - cantly worse off than before the domination of this new global capitalist machine, and they worried about their future and the future of their children. This means that Brexit and Trump’s election signaled a massive rejection, in the West, of the contemporary globalization of Western, ideologically liberal-market values—a rejection that might be likened to a “politics of the middle fi nger.” The global intensifi cation of ideologically liberal values arguably began with the neo-liberal (and neo-conservative) wave of the 1980s under Margaret Thatcher in Britain and Ronald Reagan in the United States, and it continued uninterrupted through the policies of Barack Obama.

  • The TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ACCOMPLISHMENTS
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ACCOMPLISHMENTS on Life, Family, and Religious Freedom An Overview of events occurring 2017-20192 0 To date, the administration of President Donald Trump has taken significant action on issues of concern to social conservatives – life, family, and religious liberty: On January 23, President Trump reinstated and expanded the Mexico City Policy, which blocks funding for international organizations that perform or promote abortion. This new program is known as Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance 2017 (PLGHA), which now covers $8.8 billion in family planning and global health funds that go to organizations abroad (none of whom may perform or promote abortion). On February 22, the Department of Education, in conjunction with the Department of Justice (DOJ) rescinded President Obama’s guidance that required public schools to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms and showers of their choice. On April 7, President Trump’s nominee Neil Gorsuch was confirmed to the Supreme Court. Justice Gorsuch has already developed a reputation as an originalist who will rule the right way on religious liberty issues. Gorsuch is representative of President Trump’s judicial nominees overall. On May 4, President Trump signed an Executive Order Promoting Free Speech and Religious Liberty (known as the “Religious Liberty Executive Order”), broadly setting forth religious liberty as a policy priority of the administration, and requiring all federal agencies to take action to protect it. The order also more specifically addressed conscience protections, forthcoming guidance from the DOJ, and religious liberty in the context of free speech. On August 25, President Trump announced changes to the Obama administration’s Department of Defense (DOD) policy which had allowed military personnel to serve even if they openly self-identified as transgender.
