Dr. Keith Moffett Dr. Keith Moffett A native of Macon, Georgia, Dr. Moffett is a transformational leader whose goal is to serve and lead by example. As a politician, scholar and educator, Dr. Moffett has more than a decade of experience serving in local government and his community. Currently, he is the County Administrator for Butts County, Georgia where he is responsible for the General Administration of the County Government. As the County’s Chief Administrative Officer and Chief of Staff to the Board, Dr. Moffett is responsible for the overall management and administration of the county government, working under the direction and guidance of the Board of County Commissioners, the elected legislative body of the County government. He also provides administrative and managerial support expertise to the Board of Commissioners, oversees special projects, policy development, conducting research and troubleshooting problem areas. Before his appointment as County Administrator for Butts County, Dr. Moffett served as the Director of the Macon-Bibb County E-911 Center where he directed the staff unit that is responsible for the administration and operation of the Macon-Bibb County emergency communication systems within the guidelines of Federal, State, and Local laws, county ordinances, policies and procedures, and departmental regulations. Prior to his appointment as the Director of the E911 center, he assisted the CAO with the management of 17 departments in areas such as budgets, personnel, and work plans. He created, implemented and oversaw the City’s Five by Five program, acted as liaison between the Mayor’s office and the City’s 15 member City Council, and work well with the public and private entities to contribute to the Mayor’s B.E.S.T. initiative. In addition, to serving as County Administrator, Dr. Moffett is an adjunct professor at Middle Georgia State University and Mercer University. Before joining ranks with the City of Macon, Dr. Moffett worked for the Georgia Department of Economic Development as a Regional Project Manager for the Middle Georgia area. In this capacity, he developed, improved, and promoted community economic development products as well as coordinated local, state, and federal resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Prior to his economic development career he spent 8 years in the US Navy aboard two Trident Submarines as an Electronic Technician. He is a recognized Distinguished Alumnus of Macon State College School of Business and earned his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Mercer University’s Tift College of Education, his MBA from Wesleyan College, his B. S. in Business and Information Technology from Macon State College, an A. S. in Electronic Technology and an A. S. in Nuclear Science Technology from Georgia Military College. As a proud Alumnus of Northeast High School, class of ‘AD9’, Dr. Moffett is a true product of a Bibb County Education. Dr. Moffett is the past host and voice of 13WMAZ LawCall. He is a 2003 Graduate of Leadership Macon and 2006 Graduate of Leadership Georgia. He was selected by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the state’s ‘Top 40 under 40’ in 2006, Macon Magazine ‘Top 5 Under 40’, Georgia Informer Magazine ‘Top 40 under 40’ in 2008, and honored as a Georgia Association for Special Programs Personnel (GASPP) Outstanding TRIO Achiever. He is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Macon Alumni Chapter and very active in the community with organizations such as Keep Macon Beautiful Commission, Middle Georgia United Way, Medical Center of Central Georgia Hospice Foundation, Crisis Line of Macon and Middle Georgia, and several others. Dr. Moffett is passionate about education and is committed to serving and helping to propel others to the next level of their personal and professional growth. Dr Moffett is married to Mrs. Melinda D. Robinson- Moffett, Director of Career Services at Middle Georgia State University. Together, they are the proud parents of four. .

    Georgia Higher Learning and Earnings David Evans II January 2017 Executive Summary By 2025, over 60 percent of jobs in Georgia likely will require some form of a college education, whether a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree.1 Expected earnings are an important factor in making the decision to pursue a certain degree or major, but these data have not previously been publicly available. With this in mind, the Georgia Higher Learning and Earnings Report presents earnings information for Georgia technical college and college/university graduates who work in Georgia after earning their degrees.2 It presents median, 25th percentile, and 75th percentile wages by degree category (certificate, bachelor’s, etc.), technical college or college/university, program of study, and whether the student graduated with the HOPE scholarship/grant for the first and fifth year after graduation. In addition, it explores award patterns by gender and race/ethnicity.3 In addition to degree type and program of study, it is important to note that many factors, such as student ability/motivation, college selectivity, and job market conditions affect earnings, so the results in this report should not be interpreted as a guarantee of employment or earnings. The report is limited to wage data on graduates who work in Georgia for employers that provide wage data to the Georgia Department of Labor, so it does not include wages earned in out-of-state jobs, as an independent contractor, or as a federal or military employee. With this in mind, the results should be seen as one piece of information that students and parents can use when making program and degree choices.

    Middle Georgia State University Student Media Bylaws [approved by Student Media Advisory Board, April 2013] Preamble Student Media at Middle Georgia State University consist of The Fall Line Review, KnighTVision, a television lab that supports the newspaper site, and The Statement, the student newspaper. The Fall Line Review and The Statement are open-forum enterprises staffed with students who are free to select the materials to be published without undue criticism or pressure. Student media serving as open forums are valuable aids in establishing and maintaining an atmosphere of free and responsible discussion as well as intellectual exploration on the campus. They are a means of bringing student concerns to the attention of the faculty and the institutional authorities, and of formulating opinions on various issues on the campus and in the world at large. In response to the editorial responsibility of student media, the University must provide sufficient editorial freedom and sufficient financial resources for the student media to maintain their integrity of purpose as vehicles for free inquiry and free expression in an academic community. Institutional authorities have a responsibility to provide written clarification of the role of student media, the standards to be used in their evaluation, and the limitations on external control of their operation. At the same time, the editorial freedom of student editors entails corollary responsibilities to be governed by the canons of responsible journalism, such as the avoidance of libel, indecency, undocumented allegations, attacks on personal integrity, and the techniques of harassment and innuendo. A polling of the institutions represented showed that the approach to online physics courses ranges from hybrid online to fully online courses with students meeting only for labs and tests. Lab fees vary from institution to institution but range from $15 to $35. 2) The necessary credentials and qualifications for teaching introductory astronomy courses were discussed. A motion was put forward that the committee recommend that the qualifications for teaching a physics course are also acceptable for teaching an introductory astronomy course. This motion passed unanimously. 3) A preparatory course for PHYS 2211 was discussed. Difficulties with crediting the course, especially for two year institutions, were cited. Also how such a course might affect the prerequisites for PHYS 2211 was discussed.
