Dr. Keith Moffett A native of Macon, Georgia, Dr. Moffett is a transformational leader whose goal is to serve and lead by example. As a politician, scholar and educator, Dr. Moffett has more than a decade of experience serving in local government and his community. Currently, he is the County Administrator for Butts County, Georgia where he is responsible for the General Administration of the County Government. As the County’s Chief Administrative Officer and Chief of Staff to the Board, Dr. Moffett is responsible for the overall management and administration of the county government, working under the direction and guidance of the Board of County Commissioners, the elected legislative body of the County government. He also provides administrative and managerial support expertise to the Board of Commissioners, oversees special projects, policy development, conducting research and troubleshooting problem areas. Before his appointment as County Administrator for Butts County, Dr. Moffett served as the Director of the Macon-Bibb County E-911 Center where he directed the staff unit that is responsible for the administration and operation of the Macon-Bibb County emergency communication systems within the guidelines of Federal, State, and Local laws, county ordinances, policies and procedures, and departmental regulations. Prior to his appointment as the Director of the E911 center, he assisted the CAO with the management of 17 departments in areas such as budgets, personnel, and work plans. He created, implemented and oversaw the City’s Five by Five program, acted as liaison between the Mayor’s office and the City’s 15 member City Council, and work well with the public and private entities to contribute to the Mayor’s B.E.S.T. initiative. In addition, to serving as County Administrator, Dr. Moffett is an adjunct professor at Middle Georgia State University and Mercer University. Before joining ranks with the City of Macon, Dr. Moffett worked for the Georgia Department of Economic Development as a Regional Project Manager for the Middle Georgia area. In this capacity, he developed, improved, and promoted community economic development products as well as coordinated local, state, and federal resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Prior to his economic development career he spent 8 years in the US Navy aboard two Trident Submarines as an Electronic Technician. He is a recognized Distinguished Alumnus of Macon State College School of Business and earned his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Mercer University’s Tift College of Education, his MBA from Wesleyan College, his B. S. in Business and Information Technology from Macon State College, an A. S. in Electronic Technology and an A. S. in Nuclear Science Technology from Georgia Military College. As a proud Alumnus of Northeast High School, class of ‘AD9’, Dr. Moffett is a true product of a Bibb County Education. Dr. Moffett is the past host and voice of 13WMAZ LawCall. He is a 2003 Graduate of Leadership Macon and 2006 Graduate of Leadership Georgia. He was selected by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the state’s ‘Top 40 under 40’ in 2006, Macon Magazine ‘Top 5 Under 40’, Georgia Informer Magazine ‘Top 40 under 40’ in 2008, and honored as a Georgia Association for Special Programs Personnel (GASPP) Outstanding TRIO Achiever. He is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Macon Alumni Chapter and very active in the community with organizations such as Keep Macon Beautiful Commission, Middle Georgia United Way, Medical Center of Central Georgia Hospice Foundation, Crisis Line of Macon and Middle Georgia, and several others. Dr. Moffett is passionate about education and is committed to serving and helping to propel others to the next level of their personal and professional growth. Dr Moffett is married to Mrs. Melinda D. Robinson- Moffett, Director of Career Services at Middle Georgia State University. Together, they are the proud parents of four. .
