A Musical Night from Stage & Screen Presents A Musical Night From Stage & Screen Friday 17th March 2017 at The Radlett Centre Directed & Choreographed Jason D Lane Musical Director Alex Ainley Production Manager Ruth Morley Introduction: Welcome to the launch pack of RMTC's "A Musical Night from Stage & Screen" We have a fabulous selection of contemporary stage and screen concert style and production numbers in store for you from: Smash, The Book of Mormon, Wicked, Thriller Live, Sister Act, The Commitments, Glee and Bridget Jones to name a few. Also in the mix are a handful of much-loved older numbers such as The Trolley Song and It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing). The Creative Team can’t wait to get started and we dare the audience not to dance out of the theatre after! There is an excellent balance of male and female vocals and a broad range of styles: tongue in cheek such as 20th Century Fox Mambo from Smash, outright comedy in Hello from The Book of Mormon, deep intensity in If Mountains Were Easy to Climb from Mrs Henderson Presents and One Day More from Les Miserables, and exuberant and joyful songs such as Raise Your Voice from Sister Act and Halo/Walking on Sunshine from Glee. The show will be Loud and Fun. It needs to project Energy, Sound and Joy! We are looking for Principals, Dancers and Backing Vocalists who will project the requisite mood and energy. The Creative Team: Jason D Lane Alex Ainley Director/Choreographer Musical Director RMTC's very own resident Choreographer Jason D Lane will take on the role of Director/Choreographer who promises to produce a magical night of entertainment alongside Alex Ainley, Musical Director supported by The Nightingale Jazz Quartet plus 2 additional players on trombone and saxophone for greater depth of sound. The Style of production: The first half of the production will be staged as a concert style production with an all singing, all dancing cast on stage filled with contemporary stage and screen music. The second half of the production will be more Musical Theatre staged with Duos, Trios and Full Cast scenes from modern day musicals. This is going to be a smash hit production not to be missed! AUDITIONS When: Sunday 27th November 2016, 13:00pm – 16:00pm Where: The Methodist Church Station Road Radlett How to audition: Below you will see the list of numbers indicating vocals required and with links to YouTube videos. We emphasise that we need to hear backing/chorus auditions as well as principals given the importance of the chorus in songs such as Raise Your Voice and One Day More. To audition for a Principal role: please sing excerpts from two songs: one from the list below and another of your choice. We do not need to hear a whole song. Please prepare an excerpt of no more than 1 minute from each song. For the show number, choose a bit that you feel will demonstrate your capability and suitability for the song. For your second chosen number, it might be good idea to choose something contrasting. To audition for a Backing Vocalist role: please sing an excerpt of about 1 minute from a song in the list below. To audition for a Dancer role: you will be required to do a music audition, so please sing an excerpt of about 1 minute from a song in the list below. All the audition sheet music for the show numbers will become available shortly on the show Facebook page. Feel free to sing up or down the octave from what is written to suit your voice. Please could you email Alex at [email protected] by November 18th with details of which songs you will sing and, in the case of your second song, in which key. If you can provide sheet music for the second song, that would be appreciated. Those who are successful in a principals audition will be expected to lead their number as principal vocalist and also participate in the ensemble in other numbers, including with choreography. Audition Time Slots: (Please note that Audition Time Slots are based on a first come first served basis and we may add an additional hour depending on the need) 13:00pm-14:00pm 14:00pm-15:00pm 15:00pm-16:00pm *Everyone who wants to take part in this production needs to audition. The Best Kind of Personal EssayBy Xenon Dead Timea fast- moving, very funny kind of personal essay, that describes an elbow-bend in the author's life (one she likens, in an aside of Dorothy Parker-esque self deprecation, to being a fitfully idiosyncratic, more Broadway-infused personal Eat, Pray Love scenario). The unexpected way Shukert unspools her thoughts, and draws connections between her experiences, and simultaneously peppers it all with her huge knowledge of culture, make it a real pleasure to read. • 2021 Breeze Show Choir Catalog
Previously Arranged Titles (updated 2/24/21) Specific details about each arrangement (including audio samples and cost) are available at https://breezetunes.com . The use of any of these arrangements requires a valid custom arrangement license purchased from https://tresonamusic.com . Their licensing fees typically range from $180 to $280 per song and must be paid before you can receive your music. Copyright approval frequently takes 4-6 weeks, sometimes longer, so plan accordingly. If changes to the arrangement are desired, there is an additional fee of $100. Examples of this include re-voicing (such as from SATB to another voice part), rewriting band parts, making cuts, adding an additional verse, etc. **Arrangements may be transposed into a different key free of charge, provided that the change does not make re-voicing necessary** For songs that do not have vocal rehearsal tracks, these can be created for $150/song. To place an order, send an e-mail to [email protected] or submit a license request on Tresona listing Garrett Breeze as the arranger, Tips for success using Previously Arranged Titles: • Most arrangements can be made to work in any voicing, so don’t be afraid to look at titles written for other combinations of voices than what you have. Most SATB songs, for example, can be easily reworked for SAT. • Remember that show function is one of the most important things to consider when purchasing an arrangement. For example, if something is labelled in the catalog as a Song 2/4, it is probably not going to work as a closer.
