Conceptualized in 1995, Purple Haze has always been in the forefront of the audio industry. Our USP is our large & spacious work area, which gives clients their individual space and stress free long working hours. With posh areas like Hill Road and Linking Road in close proximity, Purple Haze is surrounded by some of the best restaurants and shopping complexes. Only 20 min from uptown office areas, 20 min from Domestic Airport, 30 min from International Airport; access to the studio is not a problem.

We at Purple Haze believe in keeping ourselves up to date with our equipment and in our technique. Our two studios are equipped with the latest technology has to offer, and all of our equipment is of high-end quality.

In Studio One ‘Purple Haze’ you'll find Protools HD3, Yamaha O2R-96, & Genelec speakers, hoards of outboard processors and microphones. This facility is used for music recording for ads, music albums, songs, background scores etc. Purple Haze has now equipped itself with a true 5.1 setup based on the world-renowned Genelec speakers, to cater to the New World directors like Pradeep Sarkar, etc. This is a setup based on Protools & Genelec Monitors and the surround setup is based on International Telecommunications Union guidelines (ITU-R BS.775-1) (www.itu.int) This setup is now recommended by SMPTE and also informally adopted by Dolby & DTS. It is now the standard format for mixing DVD, DTH, SACD, DVD-Audio, Film Premixes etc…

The 2nd studio, called ‘Purple Post’, is the smaller of the two. This studio also uses a computer based nonlinear system – Digidesign Protools LE-002, Yamaha O2R mixing Console, Yamaha NS10M speakers and excellent outboard processors and microphones. The clients mainly use this studio for Audiovisuals, language dubbing for ads, serials etc., editing of music tracks, ads, songs etc.

We offer our vast equipment inventory range of outboard processors, microphones and staff engineers as an integral part of our standard studio hire, (please see our equipment list) which covers most needs and requirements. Upon request we can also arrange the hire of freelance engineers.

Our Clientele includes – Highlight, Candid Creations, MTV, VH1, Channel V, Film Farm, Dungarpur , Red Ice, Chrome Pictures, etc. Eminent Film personalities – , , , Ram Gopal Verma, Nitin Manmohan, , Ramesh Sippy, Govind Nihalani, etc. Record Companies – Sony, Universal, H.M.V, Virgin, E.M.I etc.

Purple Haze is best known for its work with , , K.K etc. Today we can also boast of international clients like Talvin Singh working with us.

Our full time team of staff is there to help you with all your needs, whether secretarial, artist co- ordination, tape copying, links to CDR production, mastering and catering, we intend to meet with all your requirements. Our in-house full time service staff is there to make sure that everything works perfectly and can take care of those special requirements with the peace of mind of 24 hours backup

Staff Abhay Rumde Accomplished Tabla player, joined ‘Purple haze’ in ’98. Worked on feature films like , Mast, , Bunty Aur Babli etc. Music albums like Colonial Cousins, Pal – K.K, and lots more. Now the Chief Engineer of ‘Purple haze’ also pursues his Tabla passion by playing in concerts, odd jingles and songs.

Dean Picardo Started of as a DJ (5 years) playing in various nightclubs (Superdrome, Taj, Oberoi’s etc.) around Mumbai before joining ‘Purple Haze’ in March 2000. Still part-time DJs’ on Fridays and Saturdays. Worked on projects Talvin Singh (HA), Pentagram, Louis Banks and many others apart from constantly working on Ads for T.V and Radio, promos for MTV, VH1 etc.

Surendra Poojari a.k.a Annu Started off in 4D studios, joined Purple Haze in August 2002, has worked on film projects like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Lakshya and is now constantly working on Feature films, commercials, A/Vs’ etc.

Ashish Saksena Free-lance engineer, director of ‘Purple Haze’ has worked on many prestigious projects, currently free-lancing on films with music directors Vishal & Shekhar and handling live concerts for Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy
