ANNUAL REPORT 2017 MISSION The Golf Foundation’s mission is to provide golfers and industry partners with a charitable platform to increase participation in golf by engaging players of all ages and abilities across Canada.

VISION To become the leading voice of golf philanthropy in Canada.

MANDATE Established in 1979, the Golf Canada Foundation’s mandate is to raise and grant funds for the advancement of golf in Canada. As a registered Canadian amateur association, the Foundation delivers this mandate by awarding scholarships to Canadian student golfers and distributing grants to support initiatives that fall into four key areas: I. Junior Golf II. Collegiate Golf III. Women’s Golf IV. High Performance Golf Funds are raised annually through major events and the Golf Canada Foundation Trustee Program along with other donation campaigns and initiatives. As a non-profit organization, the Foundation relies on donations as an essential source of revenue. Tax receipts are issued for all donations.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS DAVID AGNEW – PRESIDENT PETER MCCARTHY – VICE PRESIDENT PAUL MCLEAN – PAST PRESIDENT, HONORARY CHAIR DENNIS KAVELMAN – TREASURER LIZ HOFFMAN – SECRETARY BRUCE SIMMONDS – DIRECTOR BEN COWAN-DEWAR – DIRECTOR CAILEY STOLLERY – DIRECTOR IAN LEGGATT – DIRECTOR JEAN-SÉBASTIEN MONTY – DIRECTOR STAFF JIM LITTLE - DIRECTOR Martin Barnard - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER KEVIN SULLIVAN – DIRECTOR Joelle Efford- DIRECTOR, DEVELOPMENT & EVENTS marked the fifth year of an expanded GOLF CANADA mandate for the Golf Canada FOUNDATION 2017Foundation, where we added Junior Golf, Women’s Golf and High Performance Golf in addition to Collegiate Golf as our primary areas of PRESIDENT’S focus. Throughout the year, we achieved major milestones in each of these REPORT areas: • Over $5 million raised for golf programs in Canada since 2012 • Anne-Catherine Tanguay and Corey Conners graduated from the Young Pro program to the LPGA Tour and PGA TOUR respectively, joining fellow Young Pro graduates Brooke Henderson and Mackenzie Hughes at the game’s highest levels • A new partnership formed with Brooke Henderson and the Henderson Family Foundation around the CP Women’s Open • An all-time high of 40 colleges and universities participating in the grant matching program • More than 34,000 children engaged in junior golf programs • Expanded support from more than 4,000 donors across Canada

I am very proud of how far the Foundation has come. It’s grown from a small, dedicated group of volunteers to a truly national platform with over 4,000 donors, partnerships with four provinces, a signature major donor event, and collaboration with one of Canada’s brightest stars in all of sport, Brooke Henderson.

Thank you to our partners at RBC, Canadian Pacific, Citi Canada, ClubLink, Brooke Henderson and the entire Henderson family as well as all our Trustees for the significant contribution they’ve made to our success in 2017.

To my fellow directors, thank you for your ongoing dedication to our sport and for your efforts and enthusiasm for the game of golf which makes a difference every year to every player.

David Agnew PRESIDENT, GOLF CANADA FOUNDATION

2 GOLF CANADA FOUNDATION 2017 was a banner year for the Foundation, expanding both in fundraising and operations. Throughout the year, we increased grassroots awareness CEO REPORT and fundraising efforts, while continuing our strategic focus on high quality events unique to Canadian golf.

Our flagship initiatve, the Trustee Program, continues to grow with almost 80 major gift donors. This is complemented by the Trustee Cup, a new donor-centred event that celebrates the leaders in Canadian golf philanthropy. We are fortunate and very grateful to have support from some of the most renowned golf clubs in Canada, adding Memphrémagog this year to our list that already includes Öviinbyrd and Cabot Links.

To increase stewardship and support for all of our donors, the Foundation increased its bench strength and welcomed Joelle Efford to the newly created role of Director of Development and Events. Furthermore, we were pleased to have a previous scholarship recipient and UBC golf team member, Eunice Hong, as our summer intern.

This year was marked by a number of exceptional events that resulted in tremendous profile for the Foundation and funds raised for our golfers. I would like to thank Mr. Jean C. Monty and Mr. Paul Desmarais Jr. for hosting the Trustee Cup at Memphrémagog; the Royal Montreal for hosting a stellar Team Canada Media Day; the Ottawa Hunt & Country Club for hosting our Brooke & Friends Pro-Am; Glen Abbey Golf Club for our best Canada Day Pro-Am yet; and Angus Glen Golf Club for supporting our women’s golf events for the fourth straight year.

Much appreciation goes to Executive Director Ian Gibson and President Mike Jackson of the Canadian Seniors Golf Association, whose members have raised over $100,000 to benefit student golfers and junior programs.

Finally, a resounding thank you to all of our partners and donors who have supported the Foundation in 2017 and helped make this year one of growth and expansion.
