Chicago Parks Foundation, Park District Park Advisory Councils Host “It’s Your Park Day” Volunteers are encouraged to register to participate in a citywide day of service

Chicago Parks Foundation and ’s Advisory Councils announce “It’s Your Park Day.” More than 40 parks will host a day of service on June 17 from 9 am to 2 pm. Volunteers are invited to register to participate in activities that include trash pickup, tree mulching, replacing fibar on playgrounds, working in natural areas and maintaining community gardens.

This is the perfect opportunity for residents to get involved with their neighborhood park on a local level. Volunteers will receive an event shirt, water, Trader Joe’s fruit, KIND Snacks, High Brew Coffee and tools from The Home Depot. Families, individuals, and corporate groups are invited to participate.

In 2016, over 700 volunteers helped spruce up 37 different park locations during “It’s Your Park Day.” As of today, 41 parks across the city have registered to participate in the 2017 day of service, including:
