2014 Rockstar Mayhem Festival Coming to Mansfield’S 2014 Rockstar Mayhem Festival Coming to Mansfield’s Xfinity Center If you’re looking for a festival to bring out the heavier side of your musical palate, then look no further. The Rockstar Mayhem Festival has 28 shows across the U.S. and parts of Canada, 19 bands performing at most of them, and four stages, and you can find it locally with a show at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mass., on Tuesday, July 22, and in Hartford, Conn., at the Xfinity Theater on Sunday, July 27. Headlining the main stage is heavy metal sensation Avenged Sevenfold, with co-headliners Korn, and rounded off by Asking Alexandria and Trivium. With lawn tickets and GA pit admission, there’s a place for anyone on pretty much any budget. With the guys from Avenged Sevenfold fresh off of headlining Download Festival this year, in addition to playing Rock Am Ring and Pinkpop, and completing a nearly year-long world tour in support of their new album Hail to the King, there is no slowing down in sight for them. Their incredible stage presence, blazing guitar solos, fast-paced intricate drumming and impressive vocals will make you a fan if you aren’t already. Hell, when you are gaining respect from heavy metal icons such as Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne), you’re doing something right. Lead singer M. Shadows says their 75- minute set will be “really jam-packed” and that they intend to “blow the place up” and give their fans the full experience with their full stage setup. They’re bringing it all. So if you missed the Hail to the King world tour or haven’t heard the new album yet, get to Mayhem Festival this year. Nothing can make you like a band more than seeing such a tight and on-point performance. Now, for the “Nu Metal” side of the mainstage, you have Korn. With the addition of their unique and sometimes funky sound, the festival will most likely draw a diverse crowd (with 19 bands, how can it not, right?). Active since 1993 and with 11 studio albums under their belt, you can expect a great performance from them. Back to the original lineup (with the exception of drummer Ray Luzier in place of David Silveria), expect a lot of the old favorites to be a part of the set, with just a few newer songs, which is most likely a good thing. We will also have to wait and see if there is any “Metallica-esque” changes among the band, now that pretty much all of them are sober, but there shouldn’t be much to worry about with Korn. These guys are definitely in a league of their own with a one-of-a-kind sound. In addition to the Rockstar Energy Main Stage, there will be three other stages featuring the following bands: Cannibal Corpse Mushroomhead Ice-T and Body Count Suicide Silence Miss May I Emmure Veil of Maya Upon A Burning Body Texas Hippie Coalition Ill Nino Darkest Hour Wretched King 810 Islander Erimha And if 10 hours of music from 19 bands isn’t enough, be sure to check out the different pavilion areas that feature vendors, sponsor tents and artist tents. You can count on getting a ton of free goodies from these areas, and might be able to rub elbows with some awesome musicians. Don’t miss a great tour, and get your taste of Mayhem!.

Music events occur in great amount on a daily basis and it is important to plan and produce them in the right manner in order to stay relevant and secure one‟s place on the market. This report introduces various crucial matters that require attention during event organization process, such as marketing and strategic planning, communication and promotion, risk management, event programming and capacity management, to name a few. The 5-phase project management model is applied as the base on which this thesis is built. The research is conducted by comparing the theoretical and practical approach used in the music event business. The practical approach is based on examinations and interviews with the world market leader in live entertainment – Live Nation. An additional analysis of practices used in other large and successful music events in Europe and USA is also conducted. As this thesis shows, the practical approach is often easier and less rigorous than the theory. Some of the steps in this process may be simply omitted due to being considered of little relevance by the management team, many other are outsourced to professional agencies depending on requirements (security, catering).

    Starting in 1989, Sinister was a band arising in the middle of the Death-Metal hype. Mike, André, Aad en Ron were joining forces and the Sinister sound was born. After releasing a demo, a promo tape followed. Sending out the promo to various labels resulted in signing up at Nuclear Blast Records, Germany 1991. Their debut CD 'Cross the Styx' saw the light in early 1992, and sold many copies worldwide. Many live shows all over Europe followed. Touring with bands like Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse and Deicide increased the number of people knowing Sinister. In the years after that, Sinister succeeded in maintaining their popularity by releasing their second and third album 'Diabolical Summoning' (1993) and 'Hate' (1995) and doing many live shows all over Europe and a very successful 55 show-tour through all the USA. At the end of this period, Death-Metal got less popular, lots of Death-Metal fans switched over to Black- Metal, Gothic and other atmospherically music. Sinister never thought about playing other music than their favorite; Death-Metal. Some years passed and the band released their mini-CD 'Bastard Saints' (1996), and played a few live-shows. Several line-up changes followed, and led Sinister to write their most aggressive brutal and intense album so far 'Aggressive Measures' (1998). These time their presence in Death-Metal paid off. Death-Metal is back, where for Sinister it never left. The response from fans and critics where good. Sinister sold lots of albums and played lots of good shows, of which a short US-tour and good festivals like Wacken open air, Milwaukee Metal fest and Czech Dynamo blessed their way.

"Im Laufe unserer Karriere versuchten wir immer, uns zu verbessern, sowohl in puncto Präzision beim Zusammenspielen, als auch auf produktionstechnischer Seite, ohne an Aggressivität einzubüßen. 'Red Before Black' setzt diese Tradition fort, ist aber vermutlich noch starker auf das Aggressive hin ausgerichtet. Präzise klingt das Album definitiv, zugleich aber auch so roh wie kaum etwas, das wir in jüngerer Zeit gemacht haben", findet Bassist Alex Webster.
