Live Nation's 2013 Summer Concert Season On LIVE NATION’S 2013 SUMMER CONCERT SEASON ON DELAWARE RIVER WATERFRONT The 2013 summer concert season on the Delaware River Waterfront is going to be one of the best to date. Music fans from both sides of the river have tons of music and entertainment options to choose from, including a full season of concerts at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden plus Festival Pier and River Stage at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia. Some highlights for the summer include: The Killers, Luke Bryan, Jimmy Buffett, Dave Matthews Band and tons more at Susquehanna Bank Center. Also, at Festival Pier, The Roots Picnic is returning for its 6th year, as well as Of Monsters and Men and 311. Below is the calendar of events coming to the Delaware River Waterfront this summer. Brown, Advisor Between 1984 and 1991, heavy metal became one of the most publicly popular and commercially successful rock music subgenres. The focus of this dissertation is to explore the following research questions: How did the subculture of heavy metal music between 1984 and 1991 evolve and what meanings can be derived from this ongoing process? How did the contextual circumstances surrounding heavy metal music during this period impact the performative choices exhibited by artists, and from a position of retrospection, what lasting significance does this particular era of heavy metal merit today? A textual analysis of metal- related materials fostered the development of themes relating to the selective choices made and performances enacted by metal artists. These themes were then considered in terms of gender, sexuality, race, and age constructions as well as the ongoing negotiations of the metal artist within multiple performative realms. Occurring at the juncture of art and commerce, heavy metal music is a purposeful construction. Metal musicians made performative choices for serving particular aims, be it fame, wealth, or art. These same individuals worked within a greater system of influence. Metal bands were the contracted employees of record labels whose own corporate aims needed to be recognized.

Music events occur in great amount on a daily basis and it is important to plan and produce them in the right manner in order to stay relevant and secure one‟s place on the market. This report introduces various crucial matters that require attention during event organization process, such as marketing and strategic planning, communication and promotion, risk management, event programming and capacity management, to name a few. The 5-phase project management model is applied as the base on which this thesis is built. The research is conducted by comparing the theoretical and practical approach used in the music event business. The practical approach is based on examinations and interviews with the world market leader in live entertainment – Live Nation. An additional analysis of practices used in other large and successful music events in Europe and USA is also conducted. As this thesis shows, the practical approach is often easier and less rigorous than the theory. Some of the steps in this process may be simply omitted due to being considered of little relevance by the management team, many other are outsourced to professional agencies depending on requirements (security, catering).

Selvom hjembyen Scranton, Pennsylvania er mest kendt for at være en meget stille og rolig by, så er der intet tamt over gotiske metalcore-band Motionless In White. Bandet blander rå vrede, som vi kender den fra metalcore, med den dramatiske atmosfære, som vi kender fra goth-metal og industrial. Deres mørke og følsomme lyd lander et sted mellem Type O Negative og Slayer. Motionless In White, der blev stiftet af en gruppe af venner i high school, brød ind på scenen i 2007 med udgivelsen af deres debut-EP ’The Whorror’. Selvom der har været en del udskiftning blandt bandmedlemmer, har bandet formået at udgive en solid række albums i den tid de har eksisteret. Efter udgivelsen af ’The Whorror og deres anden EP ’When Love Met Destruction’ udkom deres første fuldlængde album ’Creatures’ i 2010, efterfulgt af albummet ’Infamous’ i 2012. Bandet fik dog først deres reelle mainstream gennembrud i 2014 med udgivelsen af tredje album ’Reincarnate’, som debuterede på en 9. plads på Billboard Top 200. Efter sigende har bandet brugt en stor del af deres tid i studiet i 2019 og det femte album ’Disguise’ er sat til at udkommer i år.
