No matter where you are joining us from, whether you are new or returning, we are so pleased to welcome you to the Confederation College community. From the time you enter our doors to the moment you graduate, we will work diligently to meet your needs and help you put your dreams to work. A number of student support services are available to you including counselling and tutoring, and all of our staff are equally committed and ready to support you. We encourage you to get involved in and support the initiatives of the Student Union of Confederation College (SUCCI) and Oshki Anishnawbeg Student Association (OASA) and to participate fully in college life, both in and outside of the classroom. Our Board of Governors and our entire academic and corporate team look forward to introducing you to our College community and leading-edge facilities, equipment and services. Hello and a warm welcome students, to a new academic year at Confederation College! My name is Vignesh (Vig) Viswanathan and let me fi rst say that it is truly an honor to serve as your Student Association President (SUCCI). I sincerely hope each of you had an exciting and relaxing summer and are now prepared for a year of excellent opportunities. I can’t wait to get to know you. We will ensure that you have a memorable year and experience that you won’t forget, friendships that will stay with you long after you leave and provide the best possible foundation to help you be the best and most successful person that you can be. SUCCI - Your Student Association offers many services and activities. Our staff and student leaders are here to assist you, and we are honoured and privileged to be the voice of our student body to help provide student life opportunities and necessities to help with your overall growth and success. College life is about engaging and involving ourselves both inside and outside the classroom. SUCCI offers a myriad of ways to get involved. Whether you like sports, just relaxing, improving your skills or just to have fun, you’ll be able to fi nd an event or activity that fi ts you. SUCCI encourages and supports students to form and participate in clubs on campus. Clubs enhance student life by providing: recreation, athletic, fi tness, performance, cultural, social and educational opportunities. Funding is available through SUCCI to support clubs with equipment or other needs and clubs can also book spaces to meet. SUCCI supports two types of Clubs: SPORT & GENERAL INTEREST Club packages are available at the SUCCI Offi ce, at SUCCI Stops or online at www.succi.com. The package outlines the steps to follow in order to create a club, and we are here to help. Wherever possible, SUCCI will attempt to match clubs with a suitable employee or alumni mentor who shares a common interest with the purpose of the club. The uPass or Universal Bus Pass is an environmentally friendly, cost saving, and safe service which allows unlimited use of the city bus, any time, any day, anywhere that Thunder Bay Transit provides service.

HOW CONFEDERATION COLLEGE WILL RESPOND The College understands that individuals who have experienced sexual violence may wish to control whether and how their experience will be dealt with by the College and/or by the police. HARASSMENT AND VIOLENCE: WE WON’T STAND FOR IT! All members of the college community have a right to a work and study environment that is free of harassment, violence and the threat of violence. BUILDING ACCESS (ENTRY PERMITS) Campus Security is also responsible for building and room access. Students who need access to a classroom or lab after regular hours, need permission to be in the building. Submit a signed Entry Permit to the Public Safety - Security Offi ce, Shuniah Room 142, no later than 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
