Running Time: Approx. 5 Hours • Unabridged © 2015 by WWE ൿ 2015 by Macmillan Audio, 175 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10010 One of WWE’s most unlikely champions of all time and also one of its most popular, Bryan has proved to the world and to all of WWE that looks can be deceiving. Just ask anyone who’s ever underestimated him...right before he went out and whipped the WWE Universe into a frenzy. This is Bryan’s behind-the-scenes story told for the first time ever by the “YES!” Man himself––from his beginnings as a child wanting to wrestle to his ten years circling the globe on the independent circuit and his remarkable climb to the upper ranks of WWE. As the biggest week of his life unfolds, Aberdeen, Washington’s bearded son reflects in full detail on his incredible path to the top and gives his take on the events that have shaped him. With his Bryanized blend of modesty and surprising candor, Daniel pulls no punches (or martial arts kicks) as he reveals his true thoughts on his evolution as a performer, his various roles in WWE versus the independent years, life on the road, at home, and much more. And he reveals the untold story surrounding the “YES!” chant that evolved to full-fledged movement, skyrocketing his career. This audiobook chronicles all the hard work, values, influences, unique life choices, and more, leading to his watershed week at WrestleMania 30. You won’t want to miss it. Yes! We’re sure about this. DANIEL BRYAN (aka Bryan Danielson) is a WWE Superstar, three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, one-time World Heavyweight, Intercontinental, and United States Champion, and 2013 Slammy Award–winning Superstar of the Year. Bryan is world renowned for his signature offensive style, a mix of Japanese and American moves, including the “YES!” Lock named after his popular, fan-driven “YES!” Movement. Bryan is married to WWE Diva and Total Divas star Brie Bella. CRAIG TELLO is the author of several WWE Books titles and is WWE.com’s executive editor, celebrating ten years as a WWE employee in 2015. A past contributor to NPR, Marvel Entertainment, and more, he resides in Stamford, Connecticut, with his wife and new daughter. • Donald Trump Shoots the Match1 Sharon Mazer
Donald Trump Shoots the Match1 Sharon Mazer The day I realized it can be smart to be shallow was, for me, a deep experience. —Donald J. Trump (2004; in Remnick 2017:19) I don’t care if it’s real or not. Kill him! Kill him! 2 He’s currently President of the USA, but a scant 10 years ago, Donald Trump stepped into the squared circle, facing off against WWE owner and quintessential heel Mr. McMahon3 in the “Battle of the Billionaires” (WrestleMania XXIII). The stakes were high. The loser would have his head shaved by the winner. (Spoiler alert: Trump won.) Both Trump and McMahon kept their suits on—oversized, with exceptionally long ties—in a way that made their heads appear to hover, disproportionately small, over their bulky (Trump) and bulked up (McMahon) bodies. As avatars of capitalist, patriarchal power, they left the heavy lifting to the gleamingly exposed, hypermasculinist bodies of their pro-wrestler surrogates. McMahon performed an expert heel turn: a craven villain, egging the audience to taunt him as a clueless, elitist frontman as he did the job of casting Trump as an (unlikely) babyface, the crowd’s champion. For his part, Trump seemed more mark than smart. Where McMahon and the other wrestlers were working around him, like ham actors in an outsized play, Trump was shooting the match: that is, not so much acting naturally as neglecting to act at all. He soaked up the cheers, stalked the ring, took a fall, threw a sucker punch, and claimed victory as if he (and he alone) had fought the good fight (WWE 2013b).

Travers Scott, Committee Chair Dr. Erin Ash Dr. Darren Linvill ABSTRACT For a long time, professional wrestling has existed on the outskirts of society, with the idea that it was just for college-aged men. With the rise of the popularity of the World Wrestling Entertainment promotion, professional wrestling entered the mainstream. Celebrities often appear at wrestling shows, and the WWE often hires mainstream musical artists to perform at their biggest shows, WrestleMania and Summer Slam. Despite this still-growing popularity, there still exists a gap between men’s wrestling and women’s wrestling. Often the women aren’t allowed long match times, and for the longest time sometimes weren’t even on the main shows.

CASE STUDY | WWE Silverdraft Steps Into the Ring with WWE WrestleMania 33. Camping World Stadium, Orlando, Fl, 2017 What happens when World-famous wrestlers dance with the Devil? A no holds barred graphics extravaganza! Q & A with WWE Graphics Guru, Perry Harovas World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is more than meets the eye; what lies behind the spandex and showmanship? Harovas: For 30 years, WWE has been the premier wresting entertainment company with programming in more than 650 million homes worldwide, 180 countries and in 20 different languages. From a social media perspective, it doesn’t get much bigger than WWE. We have 800+ million followers and WWE is the #1 sports channel on YouTube with over 12 billion views in the last 12 months. We have a 24-hour network and we originated pay per view. Our main event is WrestleMania—one of the top 5 most valuable sports brands in the world, behind only the Super Bowl, the Olympics, and the FIFA World Cup (Forbes). We also do Summer Slam, Royal Rumble, feature films (with and without wrestlers), animated shows, reality shows, video games, live shows, visual effects and custom graphics. In addition, we produce merchandise, toys, board games, and the list goes on… That’s sounds like some heavyweight content generation? Harovas: You could almost compare it to Disney, in terms of our voracious appetite for creating content. Between having our own 24-hour network, multiple brand properties, promos, motion graphics and the production of feature films—it’s truly a massive amount of content. The number of cast, crew, production and staff for RAW (one of the longest running live shows that airs every week of the year), is huge.
