Miraculous Prayer to the Little Flower

O Little flower of Jesus, ever con- soling troubled souls with heavenly graces, in our unfailing interces- sions I place my confident trust. From the heart of our Divine Savior, petition the blessings of which I stand in greatest need...... Shower upon me your promised roses of virtue and grace, Dear St. Therese, so that swiftly advancing in sanctity and perfect love of neighbor, I may someday receive the crown of life eternal. Amen August 8, 2021 Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Welcome to St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin 2

PROFILE: CATHOLIC DIOCESE of KITUI, KENYA: 2nd special collection this weekend! For many years our two parishes have been assisting the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, Kenya by hosting a who has preached on the needs of the people there. Last year because of Covid no priest came; this year is the same. Instead we plan to show a video describing the needs of the diocese and take up a 2nd special collection: Please make out checks to St. Therese Church with a note “Kitui Diocese.” The Catholic Diocese of Kitui, Kenya is a mission diocese that covers over 18,750 square miles. 26 parishes serve over one million people. The area both arid and semi-arid; with unreliable rainfall. Poverty levels are at 70% with malnutrition at 52%. The main source of livelihood is subsistence farming: crop & livestock; but due to drought there is a frequent cycle of famine and most people are on food relief. The Kitui Diocese suffers from the Covid-19 pandemic, which has caused severe economic hardship. Bishop Joseph Mwongela of the Kitui Diocese has requested our assistance for many programs, includ- ing those that support orphans, family life ministry, and formation of seminarians/future .

The Flimsy Evidence Behind the CDC’s Push to Vaccinate Children Marty Makary WSJ.com July 19, 2021 A tremendous number of government and private policies affecting kids are based on one num- ber: 335. That is how many children under 18 have died with a Covid diagnosis code in their record, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Yet the CDC, which has 21,000 em- ployees, hasn’t researched each death to find out whether Covid caused it or if it involved a pre- existing medical condition. Without these data, the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices decided in May that the benefits of two-dose vaccination outweigh the risks for all kids 12 to 15. I’ve written hun- dreds of peer-reviewed medical studies, and I can think of no journal editor who would accept the claim that 335 deaths resulted from a virus without data to indicate if the virus was incidental or causal, and without an analysis of relevant risk factors such as obesity. My research team at Johns Hopkins worked with the nonprofit FAIR Health to analyze ap- proximately 48,000 children under 18 diagnosed with Covid in health-insurance data from April to August 2020. Our report found a mortality rate of zero among children without a pre-existing medical condition such as leukemia. If that trend holds, it has significant implications for healthy kids and whether they need two vaccine doses. The National Education Association has been debat- ing whether to urge schools to require vaccination before returning to school in person. How can they or anyone debate the issue without the right data? August 8, 2021 3
