September VR-Nr.: 6729 präsentiert das Duo im heimischen Oberstdorf erstmals seine neuen Programme vor Publikum. Die WM-Dritten gehören zu den Topstars bei der Trophy, aber Finanzamt München f. Stärkste Konkurrenten der Deutschen dürften die WM- Siebten Liubov Ilyushechkina/Dylan Moscovitch aus Kanada sein. Der Eistanz-Wettbewerb ist mit den Ex-Weltmeistern Anna Cappellini/Luca Partner der DEU: Lanotte aus Italien, den WM-Dritten Madison Chock/Evan Bates (USA) und den Kanadiern Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier besonders stark besetzt. Die Deutschen Meister Kavita Lorenz/Joti Polizoakis feierten vor einem Jahr mit Platz vier ein tolles Debüt und wollen an diese Leistung anknüpfen. Katharina Müller/Tim Dieck möchten sich ebenfalls gut positionieren und hoffen Lorenz/Polizoakis Konkurrenz zu machen. Ex-Weltmeisterin Elizaveta Tuktamysheva aus Russland startet nach einer durchwachsenen Saison ihr Comeback in Oberstdorf. Die Koreanerin So Youn Park und Gabrielle Daleman aus Kanada sind weitere Medaillenkandidatinnen. Nach einem mäßigen Start im Junioren-Grand Prix Anfang September konnte sich die Deutsche Meisterin Lutricia Bock bei der Lombardia Trophy eine Woche später bereits deutlich steigern und will den Trend bei der Nebelhorn Trophy fortsetzen. Der Wettkampf bei den Herren ist sehr offen, Favoriten dürften die WM- Teilnehmer Grant Hochstein (USA) sowie Jorik Hendrickx aus Belgien sein. Das deutsche Herren-Duo mit Meister Franz Streubel sowie Vize-Meister Paul Fentz hofft auf einen starken Saisoneinstand. Insgesamt haben Verbände aus 21 Ländern 14 Herren, 17 Damen, 8 Paarlaufpaare und 10 Eistanzduos gemeldet, darunter neben den Eislauf- Großmächten Kanada, Russland und den USA auch Exoten wie Brasilien und Malaysia. Die Nebelhorn Trophy gehört zur Challenger-Serie der Internationalen Eislauf- Union (ISU), bei der die besten Läufer mehr Weltranglistenpunkte als bei anderen Herbstturnieren sammeln und sogar Preisgeld gewinnen können. Auf die beste Mannschaft wartet in Oberstdorf zudem der Fritz-Geiger-Pokal. Aber nicht nur für die Sportler und Fans ist die Nebelhorn Trophy ein wichtiger Termin: Bis zu 23 Preisrichter aus dem In- und Ausland werden zur zentralen Preisrichterprüfung der ISU erwartet.
