International Representation SASI senior graduates Paul Mildren, Tom Brice, Stefan Welch and Dushan Ruzic represented Australia and finished fifth in the World Cup held in Panama
Junior Jarryd Klemm and Nathan Van Der Linden were selected in the Australian School Boys Team which competed in the USA Tour Shaun Wright was selected in the U17 AA Team for the World Championships in Mexico
Other Four current SASI squad members and one graduate were offered scholarships to the Australian Baseball Academy held at the Gold Coast – Dakota Mitchell, Nathan Van Der Linden, Jarryd Klemm, Shaun Wright and Joe Atkins joined over 50 others from around Australia in the 6-week intensive program SASI graduates Daniel Lee and Greg Mosel were offered College Scholarships to Redlands CC in the USA Jarryd Klemm, Dakota Mitchell along with SASI graduates Wilson Lee and Jackson Lodge are current squad members of the Adelaide Bite, the 2011 South Australian ABL Team

International Representation The SASI men’s squad undertook an international tour, playing in the USA against college teams and in Germany against the Youth League and senior clubs in November/December 2011
Other Stephanie Talbot and Alex Wilson have accepted 2012 scholarships with the AIS program in Canberra The SA team finished third in the U20 National Championships 2010 SASI program graduates made up the majority of the team The 2011 SASI men’s squad competed in the U18 National Championships for SA, finishing in third position The 2011 SASI women’s squad competed in the U18 National Championships for SA, competing in the grand final and taking second position

International Representation Senior Luke Morrison, Hannah Davis and Matthew Goble were Australian senior national team members in 2011 Hannah Davis competed in three World Cups claiming second in the women’s K4 500m in Poland She also represented Australia at the World Championships in Hungary, finishing third in the women’s K2 200m and placing fifth in the women’s K4 500m which helped qualify the boat for the London 2012 Olympics Luke Morrison competed in two World Cups and placed fourth in the K2 1000m in Germany He also finished the season by placing third in the B final (12th overall) in the men’s K2 1000m at the Senior World Championships in Hungary
Junior and U23 Glenn Rypp, Luke Haniford, Laurence Fletcher and Zac Ryan represented Australia at the International U23 Regattas in Slovakia and Germany Glenn was Australia’s top U23 singles 1000m paddler in 2011, and placed first and third at the regattas Luke claimed first in the men’s K4 500m and second in the men’s K2 1000m at both events, while Laurence was also part of the winning men’s K4 200m crew in Germany Callum Dunn, Victor Gebarski, Jeremy Petho, Anna Hennessy and Nick Bulmer all represented Australia at the Junior World Championships in Brandenburg, Germany Sean-Charles Dedai was a member of the 2011 junior ‘Olympic hopes’ national team

Other Jacob Melling signed a 2012 A-League contract with Adelaide United SASI graduate Paul Izzo signed a 2012 A-League contract with Adelaide United He was also a member of the team that competed at the Under 17 World Cup in Mexico Seven SASI scholarship holders were offered AIS scholarships – Benjamin Warland, Jacob Melling, Stefan Mauk, John Karatzas, Joshua Barresi, Ben Garuccio and Teeboy Kamara Dion Kirk and Teeboy Kamara were offered National Youth League contracts with Adelaide United SASI won the Institute Challenge, a series including all state institutes, and coach Tony Vidmar was named coach of the series Joshua Barresi, Ben Garuccio, Teeboy Kamara, Jacob Melling and Benjamin Warland were named in the All Star Team Mark Ochieng and Benjamin Warland were members of the National U16 Team, while Teeboy Kamara, Stefan Mauk and Jacob Melling were part of the National U17 Team

International Representation Senior Grant Schubert was a key member of the Australian men’s team which won the World Cup in India Tom Wickham played for Australia A against India and Pakistan in a home series in Perth Georgie Parker played her first international game for the Hockeyroos at the Champions Trophy in Holland with Holly Evans, Bianca Greenshields and Elise Stacy also making their debut for the Hockeyroos during the year Holly Evans and Bianca Greenshields were selected into the 2012 National Senior/Olympic Squad receiving AIS scholarships along with Karri McMahon, who was one of only three juniors selected Deanne Gilbert, Georgie Parker and Elise Stacy were selected into the National Senior Development Squad
Junior Karri McMahon captained the women’s national junior team who competed in India along with Jane Claxton Tess Reynolds was also added to the squad for an international series against Japan to be played in December 2011 Cameron Joyce captained the men’s junior national team in Malaysia with Edward Chittleborough also chosen for the tour
Other The Southern Suns claimed the Australian Hockey League national championship for the first time in 16 years The team included SASI scholarship holders Jane Claxton, Holly Evans, Bianca Greenshields, Karri McMahon, Tess Reynolds and Amy Watters, and was coached by SASI coach Craig Victory Ryan Edge, Emily Grist, Daniel Mitchell, Alastair Oliver, Eloise Sobels and Amy Watters were selected in the national futures squad for 2011

International Representation Senior Anna Maycock, Sarah Choat, Heike Jensen and Olivia Orchard represented Australia at the Asian Senior Indoor Volleyball Championships in Chinese Taipei Nathan Roberts, Greg Sukochev, Aden Tutton and Harrison Peacock represented Australia at the Asian Senior Indoor Volleyball Championships in Iran Becchara Palmer, Sam Boehm, Chris McHugh and Josh Slack represented Australia on the Beach Volleyball World Tour, with Chris and Josh earning a fifth place in Moscow, and Becchara earning a fourth place finish in Thailand

26 Robert Gerard AO Emerging Athlete Development Fund
The Robert Gerard AO Emerging Athlete Development Fund was originally established in May 2007 and has provided financial assistance to South Australian athletes since 2009 Its charter includes the provision of support to next generation elite athletes, particularly those competing at the Junior/ Under 23 World Championship/International level or equivalent In three years the Fund has provided over $90,000 in grants to 50 individual athletes The Fund is operated by an independent Board with assistance from the South Australian Sports Institute, who considers applications for funding twice annually Priority for support is provided to athletes who compete in sports and disciplines contested in Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games
