Renewal of SCU-UGhent Memorandum of Cooperation

On April 1st, 2014, after attending President Xi Jinping’s address at the College of Europe, a delegation of Sichuan University led by President Xie Heping visited UGhent. During a meeting with Rector Anne De Paepe, the Memorandum of Understanding between the two schools was renewed. The European Studies Center and the West China Center of Medicine, SCU both have had long-standing co- operation with UGhent. SCU signed agreements with UGhent and VUB in August and September, 2009, entering new partnerships in the implementa- tion of Erasmus Mundus Programs. During the meeting, the two presi- dents made brief introduction of their respective schools and talked about the success the two schools had ac- complished in international exchanges and cooperation, recalling the history of cooperation between the two sides, and hoping to reinforce cooperation between them. They said that the two schools should take the initiative to explore for new ways to expand and intensify cooperation on the basis of existing collaborative activities.
