As help you dip your toes into a little of everything, here is a festival, of course, we have already had to embrace Stewart Collins’ suggestion for a festival in 12 events: the so-called ‘new normal’ and the 2020 festival will Thursday 15 July remain in a lot of people’s memories as something of a Jess Gillam Ensemble beacon in the midst of trying times. But here we are in 2021 so what can we look forward to? Certainly as far Friday 16 July as the Petworth Festival is concerned, the answer is ‘a The Bloomsbury Quartet – ReCentred: Elizabeth Maconchy lot!’ Happily, we have been able to forge a programme (pay as you wish event) that celebrates the finest in performance, much as Sunday 18 July we have over the last 40 years, and over the next few Genesis Sixteen (choral) pages you will hopefully be overjoyed to see some of the gems that lie in store for us this coming summer. Check the website for any updates. The Portsmouth Group offers a variety of walks mainly in Hampshire, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight. On Saturdays these are moderately paced 5 to 9 mile walks whilst, on Sundays, they are faster paced 11 to 15 mile walks. The Group also has short Friday evening walks and some extra Saturday walks in more distant parts in the summer months. Most walks have a pub/cafe stop either at the end or at lunch time. New walkers always welcome. Just turn up at meeting place for shorter walks. For walks in excess of 10 miles, please contact leader first if you have not previously walked this distance. Grade A walks – for experienced walkers; brisk pace Grade B walks – regular pace Grade C walks – moderate pace Grade D walks – slow pace These are only general indications of the pace and will vary with the individual leader.     Winner of the Nikolai Rubinstein Piano Competition and a pupil of Maria João Pires and Dmitri Alexeev, award-winning Russian-British pianist and conductor Petr Limonov frequently performs across Europe and the UK, having collaborated with, among others, Boris Berezovsky, Maria João Pires, Nicola Benedetti, Laura van der Heijden, Jennifer Pike, Leonard Elschenbroich, Natalie Clein and Van Kujik Quartet. He has recorded for Decca, Onyx Classics, Chandos and Champs Hill labels; the “1948” album, recorded with Laura van der Heijden, received the “Edison Klassiek” award in 2018 and the BBC “Newcomer of the Year” award in 2019. Petr’s notable appearances include La Roque d’Antheron festival (Boris Berezovsky’s Carte Blanche, broadcast by radio France Musique), Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Kings Place, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Southbank Cen- tre, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, a recital in The Duke’s Hall for HRH Prince Charles, iTunes Festival, TV appearances for BBC Proms Extra, Podium Witteman and broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 and “Culture” TV channel (Russia). In 2017, his arrangement of the Auld Lang Syne (from Nicola Benedetti’s “Homecoming” album, Decca, 2014) was performed in the Albert Hall at the BBC Proms. His repertoire stretches from Orlando Gib- bons to Arvo Pärt. Born in Moscow, Petr started playing the piano at the age of 5. A year later he entered the prestigious Moscow Central Music School, where he studied under the guidance of Siavush Gadjiev, Valery Piasetsky and, later, Andrei Pisarev. After winning First Prize at the Nikolai Rubin- stein International Piano Competition in Paris he started giving con- certs throughout Europe and Russia, supported by the Vladimir Spivakov International Foundation.

    Annex SCHEMES TO BE PROGRESSED IF DEVELOPER FUNDING IS SECURED March 2009 Background This document is called “Schemes to be progressed if developer funding is secured” and is also known as the “Blue Book”. In line with latest national guidance (see below), County and District Councils have developed a structured approach to the identification of transport needs related to development proposals. This aims, in particular, to improve the link between meeting the needs of development and the aims of the Local Transport Plan. The County Council’s Works Programme and Forward Programme are produced annually to list the highways and transport schemes to be progressed with the funds available. This year, the Forward Programme has been extended to include schemes that have been identified, in liaison with the Local Planning Authorities, as meeting LTP objectives but that cannot be progressed within available funding. Developer contributions will be sought towards these schemes, where they are seen to meet the needs of development proposals. This extended Forward Programme has been subject to consultation and will be supported by District Councils and used to assist the development control process. The programme will be updated each year and it is intended to engage wider community interests in developing and updating the programme in future years. Planning Context Planning Policy Guidance Note 13 : Transport requires authorities to demonstrate a linkage between land use planning and transport policies and objectives.
