Maccarinelli Aims for Third World Title Against Great Jones Jnr
MACCARINELLI AIMS FOR THIRD WORLD TITLE AGAINST GREAT JONES JNR Welsh star Enzo Maccarinelli will challenge American legend Roy Jones Jnr. for the Vacant WBA Super World Cruiserweight Championship on Saturday 12 December at the VTB Ice Palace in Moscow, Russia, televised exclusively live in the UK on BoxNation. Maccarinelli aims to become a three-time world champion at 200lbs by defeating Jones, a former five time and three weight-division world champion, who became a Russian citizen on Tuesday after being presented with a passport by President Vladimir Putin. The sledge-hammer hitting Swansea ace has registered 31 wins by knockout from 40 wins in 47 fights and has previously won British and European titles at cruiserweight and the Commonwealth title at light-heavyweight. ‘Big Mac’ has been campaigning at light-heavyweight for the last three years and challenged for the WBO World title last year against Juergen Braehmer, but the fight was stopped in the fifth round after Maccarinelli couldn’t see out of his right eye after a clash of heads in the opening round. Although Maccarinelli respects Jones for his incredible ring achievements and acknowledges he was the greatest fighter of the 1990s, he says he will knockout Jones to realise his dream of becoming world champion for a third time. “Jones was a great great fighter, certainly the best of his era and a fighter that I admired, but that has to be put to one side as I have my job to do and that’s to knock him out and win the world title,” Said Maccarinelli. -

Born and raised in Manchester, Fury weighed just 1lb at birth after being born three months premature. His father John named him after Mike Tyson. From Irish traveller heritage, the“Gypsy King” is undefeated in 28 professional fights, winning 27 with 19 knockouts, and drawing once. His most famous victory came in 2015, when he stunned longtime champion Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles. He was forced to vacate the belts because of issues with drugs, alcohol and mental health, and did not fight again for more than two years. Most thought he was done with boxing forever. Until an amazing comeback fight with Deontay Wilder in December 2018. It was an instant classic, ending in a split decision tie. Outside of the ring, Tyson Fury is a mental health ambassador. He donated his million dollar purse from the Deontay Wilder fight to the homeless. This book is dedicated to the cause of mental health awareness. -

Deontay Wilder Vs. Tyson Fury Ii Is As Big As It Gets
DEONTAY WILDER VS. TYSON FURY II IS AS BIG AS IT GETS LAS VEGAS (February 13, 2020) – The upcoming rematch between WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder and lineal champion Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury is the biggest heavyweight title fight in history. Literally. Standing 6’7″ and 6’9″ respectively, Wilder and Fury create the greatest combined height ever seen in a bout for the WBC, Ring Magazine and lineal heavyweight titles, standing a collective 13 feet and 4 inches. The only heavyweight title bout “taller,” so to speak, took place in 2007, when the 7- foot Nikolay Valuev defended his WBA heavyweight title against the 6’6″ Jameel McCline. But never before have the sport’s very best big men been as large as they are today. To put in perspective how large Wilder and Fury are, it’s best to compare them to the land of giants: The NBA. Consider the fact that at 6’7″ and in the neighborhood of 220 pounds, Wilder is the same size as Los Angeles Clippers small forward Kawhi Leonard. Fury, meanwhile, is nearly identical to LeBron James in terms of height and weight. These days, a look at the Top 10 of any rankings you choose shows that most contenders are built like Super Bowl champion tight end Travis Kelce, who stands 6’6″ and weighs around 250 pounds. As anyone who watched the thrilling first contest between Wilder and Fury will know, the two are indeed athletes, far from the lumbering behemoths you might expect men of their measurements to be. -
