Lysaght Peoplecare Limited. A registered private health insurer. ABN: 95 087 648 753 President’s welcome It is my pleasure to welcome everyone here today to the 2010 Premier League Grand Final. This has been clearly the most exciting Football Season the Premier League has ever enjoyed and going on this season’s amazing twists & turns, today promises to be one of those great Illawarra Mercury Premier League Grand Finals. For Football lovers, this 2010 Premier League Season has been nothing short of fantastic, it was unquestionably many things but certainly it was very exciting, unpredictable, unexpected, nerve racking and ultimately that final 1 minute of football spread across many Premier League Football fields in the Illawarra Region, was probably the “fitting end” to conclude our Championship in 2010. Today we see 2 great Premier League clubs face-off for the Grand Final Trophy. Historically, Port Kembla has been a Trophy collecting powerhouse of yester year and more recently Dandaloo has swept all before them, similarly collecting every Trophy on offer. As Port Kembla re-emergences from its re-building era, the young, fast and dynamic Port Kembla side comes up against a very powerful, well organised, highly experienced and professional Dandaloo team filled with proven high quality players with a proven football record. Both Teams are superbly coached and professionally managed by their respective great Club Committees in Dandaloo & Port Kembla. Good luck to both Clubs today. We also have 2 other Grand Finals to be decided today; Picton Rangers vs Woonona in the IFA’s 1st Division Competition and an all conquering Tarrawanna team playing a consistent and solid Woonona team in the Youth Premier League Grand Final. All successful organisations need solid Corporate support and my Board & I are really privileged to have a number of major successful businesses that have strongly supported this new generation of Football in the Illawarra. The IFA have developed strong friendships with these iconic organisations and I am proud to say that these businesses are now all long term partners and provide our Sport with immediate credibility and professional status. Thank you; No. 10 Teamwear, Spartan Sports, Edmen Group, Micon, Fraternity Club, Rebel Sports ,Villa D’oro, Peoplecare Health Insurance and the Illawarra Credit Union. Finally, the Illawarra Mercury as our Premier League Major Naming Sponsor for the second year, has provided football with great coverage of our competitions all season and no doubt Joel Ritchie will have a comprehensive roundup of our biggest day on tomorrow. I would like to extend personal thanks to the Illawarra Mercury’s General Manager Ben Marsh and Chief Editor, Stuart Howie for their support this season. We, the football public, all fully understand just how critical the Illawarra Mercury Sponsorship and the coverage is to; our sport, our sponsors, our supporters, our players, our coaches and our sustainability for the future and we thank the Mercury for this opportunity & partnership. The IFA Board, member clubs and the football community have shown a significant commitment to our social responsibility again this season. In August, the clubs rallied behind the Call to Arms, raising money to fight men’s cancer. Today we continue that spirit of responsibility with the National Breast Cancer Foundation. At the IFA we believe in the power of football to help benefit society and we applaud you, the clubs and fans, for getting right behind our efforts. Finally I wish to personally thank my hardworking members of IFA Board of Directors and the management and staff. These people really work hard, they always accept the criticisms and the applause and have really contributed to the success of our year with; our competitions, our commercial corporate performance, governance and social responsibility. Today demonstrates their commitment to our sport. Have a great grand final day and enjoy it. Best Regards. Eddy De Gabriele President IFA ILLAWARRA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION SPONSORS

Has met with instant success at his new home with the team taking out the 2010 IPL League Championship. Like most of the coaches in the Premier League the League Championship is the one Beedie cherishes the most and winning today would be ‘icing on the cake’ in a possible dream double winning debut season.

Star Man: Matthew O’Shea is undoubtedly the one to watch in this young Port side. O’Shea has been a bit of a journey man in his time in the IPL and enjoyed great success as captain of the Dandaloo sides of 2005/2006/2007.

Port Kembla should be fresh and with a youthful strikeforce should be too much for Dandaloo. We have played them three times in the last few weeks and Dandaloo have faded badly in the last 20 minutes of each game. Bulli 1-1 draw with penalties required Should be a very close game with two excellent teams on display. They are two very different sides, one very mobile and quick and the other full of seasoned and experienced professionals. Too close to call. Ljupco Naumovski Cringila Lions Dandaloo 2-1 Dandaloo had a good win in the qualifying final against Albion Park and they have the experienced players which will rise to the occasion on the big stage. They will have revenge on their minds after Port Kembla took away their League Championship this season. Noel Spencer Dapto Dandaloo 2-1 Should be a close game with youth and pace up against experienced players. They were the two best teams in the competition this season and it is fitting that they will appear in the grand final. Monte Pfrengle Fernhill Dandaloo 2-0 They are a very experienced side who are appearing in back to back grand finals. Dandaloo were pretty consistent throughout the season. Norm Boardman Picton Rangers Dandaloo 3-2 Expects the game to be fairly close although he believes it will be a high scoring game. Two different styles with Port Kembla having the pace and youthful exuberance whilst Dandaloo have all the experience. Michael Santalab South Coast United Dandaloo 3-0 Dandaloo simply have too much class all over the park. PROUD SUPPLIERS Gary Fernie Tarrawanna 1-1 Draw Tough game to call and it could really be a ‘toss of the coin’ affair with the game possibly going to penalties. Dandaloo do have the big game players to handle the occasion well, whilst Port will be relying OF MATCH BALLS on their youth and speed. Matt O’Shea is a big player for Port Kembla and Dandaloo will need to contain him, otherwise he could have a huge impact on the outcome. John Fleming United FOR THE ILLAWARRA Dandaloo 2-0 Dandaloo have the better players. Will look at this as an opportunity FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION to redeem themselves after losing the League to Port Kembla and they won’t let the opportunity go by. & FOOTBALL NSW Chris Calderbank-Park Woonona Dandaloo 3-2 Experience should show through on the day.
