For Immediate Release 2020 Schedule Complete; KOTW Mid-west Tour Visits 3 Tracks in September

Apr 24, 2020 – Mountain Home, ID - We apologize for taking so long to complete the 2020 schedule. As everyone knows the Coronavirus has affected every aspect of our lives, racing included. We are working with our scheduled tracks and staying abreast of the situation in their area. As of today, April 24, 2020, indications are positive that we will run our schedule as posted. We are looking forward to the start of our season, most appropriately, on the Independence Day weekend, July 3rd – 5th, in Colorado and Wyoming. The final 3 races completing King of the Wing (KOTW) 2020 schedule will be in Tennessee, Indiana and Kentucky, September 25th – 27th. All 3 races will be co-sanctioned with the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint Series (AVBBSSS). The King of the Wings Sprint Cars are heading to the Music City Tennessee area for the inaugural KOTW event at Veterans Motorplex at the Rim, Friday, September 25th. The fast- high banked asphalt jungle is located only 20 minutes north of Nashville Tn. “The Country Music Capital of the world”. The track opened in 1962 as a high banked quarter mile dirt oval. For the 1970 racing season the high banked dirt oval was paved and quickly became the fastest high banked asphalt track in the region. The high banked track quickly drew the best drivers around including NASCAR Legends such as Darrell Waltrip, Bobby Hamilton, Bobby and Donnie Allison, and Red Farmer have tried to tame this beast. Country Music Royalty Marty Robbins was an avid short track racer himself when not singing on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry, Marty raced at the high banked facility when it was dirt winning his very first race ever at the 1/4 mile track. Current owner / promoter Jerry Criswell is a big fan of sprint cars and he states, “This will be the RACE OF THE YEAR at the Rim and one fans in the Middle Tennessee area that you won’t want to miss. We are honored to be hosting the first ever KOTW event at Veterans Motorplex.” The All-Time official track qualifying record is in the low 12 seconds and is held by Justin Ashworth in a Late Model. Sprint Cars have not raced an official race at Veterans Motorplex since it was reconfigured, so we look for the all-time track qualifying record to be in serious jeopardy. The KOTW drivers will be racing for a custom wrapped Guitar that will serve as the feature Winners trophy for the 40-lap event. “The KOTW series is looking forward to bringing drivers from across the United States and Canada to the fans of northern Tennessee and compete with the Auto Value Series again.” Stated KOTW Race Director. Chuck Handley. The Series will travel 3 hours north to Salem Speedway in Salem, IN, for race #2 of the weekend on Saturday night September 26th. This is also a brand-new venue for the KOTW series. The AVBBSSS competed at this facility about 10 years ago.

King of the Wing National Sprintcar Series, LLC, P.O. Box 1538 Mountain Home, Idaho 83647 The .555-mile oval with imposing 33-degree banks was built for speed. The track has a storied 74-year history with the likes of Carter, Andretti, Foyt, and Unser, gracing this tracks winners circle. “The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Supersprints haven’t been to the famed half mile in Salem for over ten years, so it’s going to be an exciting weekend partnering up with these three established pavement venues and two of the premier sanctioning bodies of winged pavement sprintcars, to bring championship winged sprintcar racing to the Midwest,” stated Tom Hartsell. AVBBSSS Director. Sunday, September 27th the series will travel 2 hours south to Whitehall, Kentucky and the Kentucky Motor Speedway (KMS). This 3/8th mile track was built in 1961 as a ¼ mile oval. The track was lengthened in 1981 and a figure 8 was also added. Not only is this the first-time pavement Winged Sprint Cars will compete at KMS but the first time in the state of Kentucky. Scott Slaton and John Hayden are in their 1st year of Promoting KMS. Scott has been around local racing his whole life, racing and promoting. John has raced and crew chiefed at many levels. “Kentucky Motor Speedway has a very storied past and has been the starting point for several NASCAR drivers and crew members, including three-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Darrell Waltrip and his brother Michael, along with the Green brothers, David, Jeff and Mark and Jeremy Mayfield,” stated KMS 1st year promotor Scott Slaton These three races complete our 2020 schedule with 12 races. As stated above, we are still planning to open our season with the Central Tour on July 3rd -5th at Colorado National Speedway in Dacono, Colorado and Intermountain Speedway in Cheyanne, WY. The season will continue with the Northwest Tour July 29th – Aug 1. We will be at Meridian Speedway, Meridian, ID; Yakima Speedway, Yakima, WA and , Monroe WA.
