Major deities of this temple are Swayambhoo Siva & Vishnu founded by Viluvamangalathu Swamikal. The devotees believe that the head of Vishnu lays in Thiruvallam, Middle at Trivandrum and the leg space at here in the temple. In the south side of the temple there is kannuneer theertham and another paapanasam theertham is famous here. A foot print in the rock is believed as the print of Maha Vishnu. Many of the devotties who suffered with serious illness used to come and recovered their illness. If Sri Padmanabhaswami's (Lord Vishnu's) navel is in Padmanabhaswami Temple then the feet of God is at Thrippadhapuram Temple. The temple has Lord Shiva as the main deity in his most angry form. A deity of Lord Krishna (incarnation or avatar of Vishnu) with a flute is placed opposite to the Shiva lingam. It is believed that Lord Krishna plays the flute and the music calms down the anger of Lord Shiva. The stories of Lord Shiva of Thrippadhapuram are very famous.
