  • Pastor Rich Harris After God's Heart Part 2—Take the Power Back 6.20
Pastor Rich Harris After God’s Heart Part 2—Take the Power Back 6.20.2021 USING THIS SERMON DISCUSSION GUIDE We have provided all the Scriptures references in the sermon and some discussion questions for you to use to discuss the weekend message. This Sermon Discussion Guide is only a tool to aid you in meeting the needs of your group. For most groups, there are too many questions to answer in one session together. Give priority to the needs and pace of your group members. While the questions are important, remember your group’s goal is to create an atmosphere that will foster true friendships. Use the discussion questions as you see fit but emphasize the relationships. (Review) A heart after God is defined by these three things: 1. Complete trust and dependence on God 2. A heart of worship 3. A heart that always returns to God [1 Samuel 16:13-14, NIV] 13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah. [1 Samuel 16:14, ESV] Now the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a harmful spirit from the Lord tormented him. [Acts 23:14, ESV] 14 They went to the chief priests and elders and said, “We have strictly bound ourselves by an oath to taste no food till we have killed Paul.” BIBLICAL DISCLAIMERS (from 1 Samuel 16)— 1) The Holy Spirit will never leave you.

  • Hope for Even Me
HOPE FOR EVEN ME 1 Loving God Without All The Answers: Hope for Even Me By John Stewart Hill 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. Celebrate The Carillon Nurture The Newsletter of Trinity United Methodist Church Serve A Message from the Pastor Let’s Cross the River Together I imagine that after 40 years they were all exhausted. They were tired of the almost-there announcement that Moses would make every so often, telling them that the Promised Land was almost within their reach. They were tired of the sun-dried days in the desert. They were Trinity Church is a congregation tired of walking and never arriving. They were tired of putting up their of The United Methodist tents and taking them down. Basically, every day was a reminder that Church and is a Reconciling they were not yet home. Long journeys have a way of exhausting us Congregation. and wearing our souls. I think that is why one of the things that we read in the books of Exodus through Deuteronomy is about their murmuring and WHAT’S INSIDE complaining to Moses: not enough food and water, no meat, where is God? Not the way things used to be, not good enough leadership from Moses, and on and on. I don’t know how many times they complained, Pastor’s Message , Giving Link 1 but to be honest, I don’t blame them. It was a longer journey than they had expected; but I am sure they also had good days when they were Prayers, Thanks, Sympathy, Congratulations 2 immensely grateful to God for God’s presence and provision. A Note From SPRC 3 It reminds me of the many times when I have been through my own Altar Flowers,, Birthdays & Anniversaries 4 deserts.
