n Friday 20th October, O fifteen of our Year 10 pupils battled through Manchester’s driving rain to attend the Mock Trial Conference at Manchester Metropolitan University. The Conference gave pupils an opportunity to meet practising lawyers and barristers, and granted an insight into the daily lives of members of the legal profession. Our students learned a great deal about the challenges that await those who practise law, but came away with a much better idea of how worthwhile a career in the law could be. Our students asked a number of intelligent questions about how courts work, what they involve, and how lawyers deal with the day to day challenges of their profession. Overall, students found the insights presented to be very valuable and we may see some budding barristers tempted towards a career in law!

12 LYMM HIGH NEWSLETTER - 10TH NOVEMBER SPORT NEWS School Honours boards

On a final note, we like to recognise the performances of individuals and teams at Lymm High School.

One of the ways we do this is via the School Honours boards. Hopefully, you have seen these on the corridor walls near reception. They date back quite a few years and recognise all the students who have represented their County (or equivalent) in sport whilst attending Lymm High School.

As you can imagine, with the abundance of talent we have, quite a number of student names are added each year.

I am currently in the process of finalising the details of students from last year – September 2016 to August 2017.

Please can you ask your son or daughter to see me if they have fulfilled this criteria. Alternatively, you can email me the details (full name/ sports/age group/County or level).
