 How should I brush my teeth when using Corsodyl Treatment Mouthwash?

Brushing your teeth immediately after using Corsodyl 0.2% w/v Mouthwashes may prevent the mouthwash from working properly. To avoid this, use Corsodyl Treatment Mouthwash at a different time of day, or brush your teeth first, then rinse thoroughly with water and wait five minutes before rinsing with Corsodyl 0.2% w/v Mouthwashes.

The efficacy of Corsodyl 0.2% w/v Mouthwashes and Gel can be affected by SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate). This substance is often included in toothpaste so you should choose an SLS-free toothpaste, like Corsodyl Toothpaste.

 Can I use Corsodyl Treatment products on a daily basis?

Corsodyl Treatment products should be used as directed on the label/leaflet or by your dentist. For daily treatment to help prevent bleeding gums you can use Corsodyl Toothpaste and Corsodyl Daily Mouthwash.

 Can I use the Corsodyl Treatment products in children?

All products should always be used as directed on the product label/leaflet. Corsodyl products are not for use in children under 12 years old, unless recommended by a dentist. Please contact your dentist for further advice.

 How long should I use Corsodyl Treatment products for?

The recommended duration of treatment for gingivitis is approximately one month. Please see pack for details. If symptoms persist, or if you are concerned about your gum health, please consult your dentist.

 How long does the treatment mouthwash last when I have opened it?

All Corsodyl 0.2% w/v Mouthwashes can be used for up to three months after opening. Please check the packaging for the expiry date and do not use after this date.

 Does the Corsodyl Treatment range contain any alcohol? Some products within our treatment range contain alcohol. Please read the product label/leaflet for full information.

 What product should I use to help treat my gum problems?

The Corsodyl Treatment product range contains two 0.2% w/v mouthwashes and 1% w/w dental gel formulated with the antimicrobial ingredient chlorhexidine digluconate to help treat the first stage of gum disease, called gingivitis. Please consult your dentist on which product is best for you.

 Is the use of a mouthwash enough for oral hygiene?

No. Good oral hygiene is based on twice daily, thorough tooth brushing, plus regular check ups with a dentist and professional cleaning by a dentist or hygienist. Using a daily mouthwash like Corsodyl Daily Mouthwash can help to support this routine, but never replace it.

If you have persistent, worsening or serious gum problems, such as red, swollen or bleeding gums, these are the symptoms of gum disease. You may need intensive care to help repair the damage and reduce the amount of plaque bacteria in your mouth. Your dentist may recommend that you use a product from the Corsodyl Treatment range (0.2% w/v Mouthwash or 1% w/w Dental Gel) as a short term, temporary treatment in addition to your normal oral hygiene routine, to keep your mouth clean and help gums return to health.

 Do all mouthwashes treat gum disease?

Not all mouthwashes treat gum disease, some are designed to freshen breath or provide cavity protection.

 What are the ingredients in Corsodyl Daily Mouthwash?

Corsodyl Daily Mouthwash contains 250 ppm fluoride to help prevent cavities and low concentration chlorhexidine digluconate to reduce plaque build up.  Does Corsodyl Daily Mouthwash stain?

Corsodyl Daily Mouthwash may cause staining of the teeth and the tongue. This can be removed by twice daily brushing with Corsodyl Toothpaste, or by your hygienist or dentist. You can avoid staining by not drinking tea, coffee or red wine, particularly within one hour of use.

Use twice daily. Rinse with 10 ml for one minute then spit out. Do not swallow and do not rinse with water. Do not drink from the bottle. Do not use if plastic wrap is missing or not intact.

 How does Corsodyl Toothpaste work?
