Punjab Kesari Group Suported by Qi Press Controls PUNJAB KESARI GROUP SUPORTED BY Q.I. PRESS CONTROLS IN EXPANDING ITS MARKET. Oosterhout, December 2013 – Punjab Kesari Group in Jalandhar, India, one of the biggest printing groups in Northern India, is expanding its market. Q.I. Press Controls is supporting their strategy by installing 129 mRC+ register control camera’s for both colour register and cut-off register on different press lines. Punjab Kesari Group is pursuing growth. Not only by adding additional editions in markets such as Delhi, Simla, Bathinda and Rohtak, but they also want to further improve the quality level of their products. They are investing in completely new printing plants and are simultaneously upgrading existing presses with more automation like motorization, automatic colour and cut-off register controls, spray bar dampening. “We are working from an ideologically and technologically sophisticated vision. Our business strategy keeps us in a profitable position and amongst the leaders in the newspaper industry,” indicates Mr. Amit Chopra, Vice Chairman & Jt. Managing Director of Punjab Kesari Group. Punjab Kesari Group has put its trust into Q.I. Press Controls for automating the colour- and cut-off register control. Each of the seven 4-high printing units Mr. Amit Chopra, Vice Chairman & of the Manugraph Cityline Express will be equipped with 2 mRC+ camera’s for Jt. Managing Director of Punjab colour register control and 1 mRC+ camera’s for cut-off control with marks. The Kesari Group. same goes for the six 4-high printing unit counting Ronald Web Offset press: 129 register camera’s in total. The mRC+ is a digital camera with an integrated microprocessor ensuring that the measured data is processed in real-time. It has 3 functions in 1 scanner: colour register, cut-off register and sidelay register. As the camera can read from an unsupported web, the system can be mounted directly after the last print couple ensuring a very tight control loop. Because the different colours are automatically brought into register while starting up substantial savings can be realized with regard to labour and waste whilst enhancing the print quality to a constant, high level. “Because of good references from users of Q.I. Press Controls’ mRC+ systems our team was convinced that the partnership with Q.I. Press Controls would be the better option for our upgrade investment. The fully automated operation of Q.I. Press Controls’ systems, the user-friendly and logical operating interfaces will considerably increase the effectiveness of Punjab Kesari Group’s production platform.” Mr. Amit Chopra concludes: “We also feel that Q.I. Press Controls’ personal way of approaching customers whether it is in sales or service will be beneficial to us.” “For us this order is important as with this order Q.I. Press Controls can add her first big Newspaper group in local language of the Northern part of India to her client base. It will help us to enter in other similar vernacular newspaper groups in that part of the country,” says Managing Director Vijay Pandya of Q.I. Press Controls India. About the Punjab Kesari Group: The Punjab Kesari Group started their operation in 1948 with the publication of the Urdu daily Hind Samachar.
