Yes, Squackett; Bass), Steve Hackett (Genesis, Solo, Squackett; Guitar), Jerry Goodman (u.a. The Flock, Mahavishnu Orchestra; Violin), Steve Morse (u.a. Deep Purple, Dixie Dregs, Ex-Kansas, Flying Colors; Guitar), Patrick Moraz (Ex- Yes, Ex-The Moody Blues, Refugee; Keyboards),John Wesley (u.a. Porcupine Tree; Guitar), Colin Moulding (XTC; Vocals), Alan Parsons (sic; Vocals), Jon Davison (Yes, Glass Hammer; Vocals). • The Royal Affair Tour: Live from Las Vegas
Yes – The Royal Affair Tour: Live From Las Vegas (75:20, CD, 2 LP, Download, BMG/Warner) Schon wieder ein Live-Album von Yes?

This incarnation of Yes didn't last long -- another prog innovation they pioneered was the ever-evolving lineup -- but it set the pace not only for the rest of the '70s, but for the prog-rock genre at large. Yes may have embodied prog but they didn't stay still. Once the band regrouped in Yes late '70s, they embraced the steely, shiny sounds of album-oriented rock and, later, new wave, enlisting Trevor Horn best-known as the mastermind behind the Buggles to produce their album Horn shaped the dazzling "Owner of a Lonely Heart," which gave Yes their first American number one hit single inturning the group into an MTV staple in the process. Yes didn't stay in MTV's good graces for long. By the end of the '80s, the band had fallen out of Yes and into a legal battle over the rights to group's name. These matters were settled in the early '90s, opening up decades where various Yes members would reunite for tours and records, maintaining a faithful fan Yes until well into the 21st Yes.

  • YES Biography
BIOGRAPHY ****** BIOGRAPHY ****** BIOGRAPHY YES Biography In 2021 YES signed a deal with progressive label Inside Out Music and announced that a new album, their first for seven years, is released on 1st October. The Quest is a strong collection of collaborative compositions posing the great questions of life and finding that we have our destiny within our own hands. Steve Howe says “(Inside Out boss Thomas Waber) is pretty demanding, you can’t fool Thomas.” “He’s knowledgeable about YES fans, and their expectations. He was not going to be happy until we met those expectations.” The music of YES has endured over the years and has been handed down through generations of music lovers. At Sheffield City Hall, in 2018, one fan described how he had first seen YES play the very same venue more than forty years earlier. He was there with his son who had grown up with the music of YES and was as big a fan as his dad. “That’s nice and I’m so glad that’s true,” Steve Howe reflected. “We weren’t just running round doing things, we were doing things that have lasted. That’s because of the collaborations, it’s the team-work that signifies YES.” Until the global pandemic, YES had been touring annually with their Album Series tours, each tour showcasing one of their classic albums in full together with other favourite concert numbers. During the pandemic YES got together from all corners of the World - Alan & Billy in USA, Steve and Geoff in the UK and Jon between the USA, Barbados and the UK… and started writing and composing music for The Quest.

  • Peter Banks – Be Well, Be Safe, Be Lucky… – the Anthology
Peter Banks – Be Well, Be Safe, Be Lucky… Disc 1 ist mit “The Best Of Peter Banks” betitelt und beinhaltet insgesamt 15 Songs – genauso übrigens wie Disc 2 “Can I Play You Something More?”. Vertreten sind Songs von seinen 90er Alben „Instinct“, „Self-Contained“ und „Reduction“. Einige Songs sind bereits auf dem 1999 erschienen Sampler „Can I Play You Something?“ zu hören, wo Stücke aus dem Zeitraum von 1964 bis 1968 unter anderem von The Syn oder Mabel Greer’s Toyshop vertreten sind. Und nun heißt es also „Can I Play You Something More?”.

Subject: Yes - The Royal Affair Posted by Wayne Parham on Tue, 23 Jul 2019 23:08:36 GMT View Forum Message <> Reply to Message I went and saw a fantastic concert on Sunday: Yes - The Royal Affair. There were actually several acts, any of which was worthy of seeing alone. First up was Carl Palmer of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Palmer honored the memory of his fellow ELP members Keith Emerson and Greg Lake, both of whom died in 2016. As a fitting entrance, the show started off with ELP's, "Karn Evil 9" - Welcome Back My Friends to the Show that never Ends. During that set, Arthur Brown occasionally did vocals, including his 1968 hit, "Fire." Next was John Lodge of the Moody Blues. John Lodge's set paid tribute to the band's recently departed member Ray Thomas. It included six songs Lodge wrote for the Moody Blues, including "I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)" and "Ride My See-Saw." He also played "Saved by the Music," which was found on 1975's Blue Jays, an album Lodge made with singer Justin Hayward. I'm a big Moodies fan, so this set was as thrilling for me as the headliner. And then Carl Palmer came back to perform Asia songs, along with Geoff Downes. Asia played the hits from their self-titled 1982 album, paying tribute to their late founding member John Wetton. In his stead was Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, who started off the set. Some of their 1982 hit songs included "Sole Survivor," "Heat of the Moment" and "Only Time Will Tell." Then about halfway through the set, Steve Howe came on stage.

  • It's Easy to Perceive the Story of Yes in Bare Facts. They Were Formed In
UK & INTERNATIONAL PRESS AND PROMOTION SERVICES *******BIOGRAPHY ****** BIOGRAPHY ****** BIOGRAPHY******* It's easy to perceive the story of Yes in bare facts. They were formed in 1968, and recently celebrated (in 2018) a remarkable 50th anniversary, with their acclaimed and hugely successful #YES50: Celebrating 50 Years of YES tour. There have been 19 full-time members of the band during this period. They have sold more than 30 million records worldwide. They have won a Grammy and received a further five nominations. They have released 21 studio albums, having two number one records in the UK and seven Top 10 successes in the US. And in 2017 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now, all of this is true. But it doesn't even begin to explain how Yes have become one of the most influential and vital bands of the past five decades, one that altered the parameters of music, and in the process invented, then reinvented progressive rock. It all began in June 1968, with the first line-up of vocalist Jon Anderson, guitarist Peter Banks, bassist Chris Squire, keyboard player Tony Kaye and drummer Bill Bruford. They made their live debut on August 4 the same year at a youth camp in Essex. And their potential was amply highlighted when offered the chance to support Cream at their farewell concert at the Royal Albert Hall on November 26, '68. The band signed to Atlantic Records, releasing their self-titled first album during August 1969. This immediately showcased the band's musical credibility and virtuosity.
