Energising Europe: raising climate ambition and boosting energy solutions for growth ONLINE / 26-27 June 2020 ABOUT THE EVENT The world has become a better place. In fact, people are wealthier, healthier and well fed. We travel easier and feel more interconnected to each other. However, our improved standard came with a hefty price, causing a great damage to the earth and thus brought the climate change. As liberals, we are the foremost promoters of the globalized world. Therefore, it is of crucial importance that liberalism remains relevant in the debate regarding climate change by presenting ideas that demonstrate how our ideology can tackle it. Solutions and preventing climate change through liberal principles will be exactly the core of this project. The aim is to highlight how trade, a strong economy and an open progressive world are compatible with sustainable development. However, it is of equal importance to present and be aware of what challenges lie ahead of us. The Future Is Europe
LYMEC Electoral Manifesto THE FUTURE IS EUROPE Events in the last years have clearly shown that Europe is experiencing a crisis of solidarity, a crisis of togetherness and a crisis of short-sighted visions. It has been a time of rising national egoism, populist agendas and hate-speech. Recent geopolitical shifts have made it clear that we can no longer rely on some of our default allies in solving conflicts in the European neighbourhood. We are living in a time of post-truth news realities, and challenges to personal data and cyber security. It is more than evident that to protect our Union of freedom, justice and democracy, we need to reform it. For that, we need all pro-European, progressive voices to actively involve citizens to bring about change in the European Union and the way we think about Europe. We need the energy and optimism of young people; only together can we turn the European Union into one that better delivers upon our concerns. There is no other way forward - the future is Europe. LYMEC, European Liberal Youth, is a pan-European youth organisation dedicated to the promotion and strengthening of liberal values in Europe. LYMEC aims to strengthen the cooperation of young liberals and to unite the efforts of young people in building a better and more liberal political, social and economic environment for all Europeans. We strive to ensure more youth engagement and civil participation; we are guided by the principles of individual freedoms, coupled with responsibilities. Only in a state of freedom are people able to realise their true potential, and only by taking our fair share of responsibilities can we form an ever-perfect, inclusive, merit-based society.

Political youth organisations and alcohol policy in Nordic countries Project report 2019/2020 Nordic Alcohol and Drug Policy Network www.nordan.org THIS is not a scientific study. It has never aimed to be one. This is advocacy groups attempt to analyse the developments in societies and in a way to predict where are we heading in the next five or ten years. The prediction aspect of this is because we are focusing on young people. And even more, on politically active young people. They are, at least theoretically, the ones making the decisions of tomorrow. Are they the future ministers, prime ministers, party leaders, high officials? Probably, yes. They are going to decide the future of the political parties, and as we are finding out, they give their best to do it already today. Perhaps more than ever, the youth voice is critical in today's policymaking. "Politics is in realignment. And perhaps the most underappreciated change is this: Based on recent research at Tufts University's Tisch College of Civic Life, young voters, ages 18- 29, played a significant role in the 2018 midterms and are poised to shape elections in 2020 and beyond." CNN on January 2, 2020, looking at the US presidential elections. Every Nordic country is discussing or already experimenting with lowering the voting age, thus involving younger people in our democratic processes. That will mean that political parties will listen more and more what young are saying, what they support and are interested in. Youth matter. Today more than ever before. For us, to understand the motives and interests of young people, it will be easier to predict the next steps and the future developments.

ALDE Party Internal Regulations
1 INTERNAL REGULATIONS OF THE ALDE Party 2 As modified at the Party Council meeting in Athens, Greece on 25 October 2019 3 The internal regulations regulate the functioning of the Association and its bodies in general 4 and may not conflict with the Articles of Association. 5 I. NAME OF THE PARTY 6 1. “Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party” is the official name of the Party 7 and is abbreviated ALDE Party. 8 II. CONGRESS 9 1. The Congress shall be held in Europe at least once a year. The Bureau shall take the 10 decision as to which Party will host the Congress after having reviewed applications 11 submitted by member parties. 12 III. AGENDA AND TIMETABLE OF THE CONGRESS 13 1. The Bureau shall draw up the agenda and submit it to the Congress for formal adoption. 14 2. The Bureau shall act as a steering committee for the Congress. 15 3. If the subject of a draft resolution is not covered by the agenda, and the Bureau acting 16 as a steering committee rejects its inclusion in the agenda, the Congress may decide 17 by a simple majority whether the motion will be admitted for discussion and decision. 18 4. Items, including draft resolutions, for the agenda may only be submitted to the 19 Secretariat of the ALDE Party, not less than seven weeks prior to the Congress, by full 20 member parties, 50% + 1 of the Members of the European Parliament, of the 21 Committee of the Regions, of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe 22 who are signed up to the ALDE Party, the ALDE Party Gender Equality Network or the 23 Bureau of the ALDE Party.
