Eben jener Gitarrist und Sänger von dem jeder mindestens einen Hit kennen dürfte: ALBERT HAMMOND. Der gebürtige Londoner mit familiären Wurzeln in Gibraltar hat nämlich einige der bekanntesten Popsongs der vergangenen vier Jahrzehnte (co)komponiert: Von seinen selber gesungenen Chartbustern “It Never Rains In Southern California”, “The Free Electric Band” und “I’m A Train” bis hin zu den für The Hollies (“The Air That I Breathe”), Whitney Houston (“One Moment in Time”), Leo Sayer (“When I Need You”), Starship (“Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now”), Willie Nelson & Julio Iglesias (“To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before”), Tina Turner (“I Don’t Wanna Lose You”), Joe Cocker (“Don’t You Love Me Anymore”), Chicago (“I Don’t Wanna Live Without Your Love”) oder Duffy (CD: “Endlessly”, 2010) geschriebenen Titeln (auf Tonträgern 360 Millionen Mal verkauft!). Folge 1 enthält unter anderem den ersten von ihm verfassten Welthit “Little Arrows“ (Leapy Lee, 1968) ebenso wie Duett-Varianten von “It Never Rains In Southern California“ (mit Al Stewart), “The Air That I Breathe“ (mit Cliff Richard), “When I Need You“ (mit Ron Sexsmith), “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now“ (mit Bonnie Tyler) oder „The Free Electric Band” (plus Courtney Taylor von The Dandy Warhols). Das aktuelle “Legend II“ wartet auf mit seiner Interpretation der Originalversionen solcher Hits wie “One Moment In Time“ (Whitney Houston), “I Don’t Wanna Lose You“ (Tina Turner), “I Don’t Wanna Live Without Your Love“ (Chicago), “Don’t You Love Me Anymore” (Joe Cocker), “When You Tell Me That You Love Me” (Diana Ross) und – als erster Singleauskoppelung – dem mit Chris de Burgh komponierten “The Snows Of New York”. Solch umfassendes Repertoire garantiert eine große Auswahl an international berühmten Liedern, aus denen ALBERT HAMMOND für seine Konzerte schöpfen kann. .

The present suppkinent to the 1948-1949 edition brings up to date, on the basis of information receivjed.from the states by the end of Novem ber, 1948^, the* names of the principal elective administrative officers of the states and of the members of their legislatures. Necessarily, most of the lists of legislators are unofficial, final certification hot having been possible so soon after the election of November 2. In some cases post election contests were pending;. However, every effort for accuracy has been made by state officials who provided the lists aiid by the CouncJLl_ of State Governments. » A second 1949. supplement, to be issued in July, will list appointive administrative officers in all the states, and also their elective officers and legislators, with any revisions of the. present rosters that may be required. ^ Thus the basic, biennial ^oo/t q/7^? States and its two supplements offer comprehensive information on the work of state governments, and current, convenient directories of the men and women who constitute those governments, both in their administrative organizations and in their legislatures.

Albert Hammond Jr Born: Van Nuys, California: a suburban area known as The Valley Schooling: Was schooled in The Valley. Studied film in NYC, but dropped out to study Jungian philosophy and the underground Work stint: Record store employee. Alphabetized records, movies and porn.... lots of porn. Got fired.... Music stint: Formed The Strokes with 4 other accomplices. Name: Albert Hammond Jr. shortened to AHJ. Found the best sound was at maximum amplification. Changes: Found a mask to tell my story. Found my lost persona in Francis Trouble Marital Status: Wife Justyna Domicile: A throwback to the life style of Henry David Theroux in the Catskill Mountains near Bethal, New York. Do not fear the unknown for it is constantly there. Albert Hammond Jr’s fourth solo album Francis Trouble explores a deeply personal topic – the stillborn death of his twin brother, Francis, and the lingering effects that event has had in his life and music. In November of 1979, Hammond Jr’s mother, Claudia, miscarried. Although they rushed to the hospital, Claudia and Albert Hammond Sr. were told that the baby was far too premature to live. Albert continued to grow inside of his mother undetected until she was nearly six months pregnant. Although he had always known of the existence of Francis, it was not until he was 36 years old that he learned from an aunt that part of Francis had remained behind in the womb and was born along side him – a fingernail. With his music moving in a different path than before, Hammond Jr wondered if this new direction came from another avenue of himself, perhaps emanating from whatever he and the departed Francis had shared for the few short months they had together.

Steve Rowland Actor, Singer, Columnist, Recording Producer, Author Born in Hollywood, actor, singer, columnist, author and record producer Steve Rowland grew up in Beverly Hills during the Golden Age of Hollywood. His father was film director Roy Rowland, his mother Ruth was a scriptwriter and the niece of Louis B. Mayer of MGM fame. Steve almost "naturally" began an acting career in the 50s, starring in over 35 TV shows like “Bonanza”, “Wanted Dead Or Alive” and a two year role in “The Legend of Wyatt Earp”. His first film appearance was at 11 year's old in MGM's "Boy's Ranch", singing Darling Clementine in the campfire scene. Film appearances included co-starring roles in “The Battle of the Bulge” with Henry Fonda and Telly Savalas, “Gun Glory” with Stuart Granger and Rhonda Fleming, “Crime in the Streets” with John Cassavetes and Sal Mineo, and the original “The Thin Red Line” with Keir Dullea and Jack Warden. These were also the years when as a member of "Hollywood royalty" Steve was inspired to write monthly columns for the popular fan magazines, The View From Rowland’s Head being the most famous, as he mingled with the stars and starlets of the time : Elvis Presley, Steve McQueen, Marlon Brando, James Dean, Natalie Wood, Tuesday Weld, Kathy Case, Carmen Phillips to name a few. And with his all-time friend Budd Albright, he hit the music scene with the group "West Coast Twist Kings", and with Earl Bostic he performed in the "Ringleaders". The lure of ‘the swinging sixties’ soon brought Steve to London where he produced records for the Fontana label.

FOCUS GUTS and GLAMOUR JIMMY CHOO’S CREATIVE DIRECTOR SANDRA CHOI JOLTS THE FOOTWEAR BRAND FEARLESSLY FURTHER INTO MENSWEAR. BY JOSHUA GLASS 92 | ESSENTIALHOMMEMAG.COM On the onset of any exploration, there are those that will set off with a decisive course of action—be it literally a physical route or an in- animate sense of loyalty—that comes premedi- tated. Decided on, set upon, and fully executed, the thoughtfulness of the plan is only surpassed by the attention to detail of its maker. For the rest, the path is a more circuitous one. Mean- dering about, these wanderlusts seem to find the finish line, along the way collecting up ideas as free flowing as fluttering butterflies in a con- servatory. Seemingly at odds with each other, occasionally these kinds of conduits converge and—like Jimmy Choo Ltd’s Creative Director and Designer Sandra Choi, whose meticulous devotion to her design matches only her keen- ness toward inspiration—result in journeys that despite occurring several times a year, still reso- nate with distinctiveness. In this case, these journeys are the British fash- ion house’s ever-expanding shoe and fashion accessory lines, which have ballooned over the past two decades from small London women’s studio to fashion enterprise through Choi’s gusts of creativity. At the heel of the company since its inception in 1996, the designer—who is also the niece of the house’s eponym—started first as his protégé before leaving her fashion design stud- ies at the prestigious Central Saint Martins for the sensual school of the stiletto.
