SMITHSONIAN HERPETOLOGICAL INFORMATION SERVICE The first number of the SMITHSONIAN HERPETOLOGICAL INFORMATION SERVICE series appeared in 1968. SHIS number 1 was a list of herpetological publications arising from within or through the Smithsonian Institution and its collections entity, the United States National Museum (USNM). The latter exists now as little more than the occasional title for the registration activities of the National Museum of Natural History. No. 1 was prepared and printed by J. A. Peters, then Curator-in-Charge of the Division of Amphibians & Reptiles. The availability of a NASA translation service and assorted indices encouraged him to continue the series and distribute these items on an irregular schedule. The series continues under that tradition. Specifically, the SHIS series distributes translations, bibliographies, indices, and similar items judged useful to individuals interested in the biology of amphibians and reptiles, and unlikely to be published in the normal technical journals. We wish to encourage individuals to share their bibliographies, translations, etc. with other herpetologists through the SHIS series. If you have such an item, please contact George Zug [zugg @ si.edu] for its consideration for distribution through the SHIS series. Our increasingly digital world is changing the manner of our access to research literature and that is now true for SHIS publications. E mail: [email protected] Palabras claves: Resumen Biodiversidad El trabajo se realizó en el periodo comprendido de enero 2016 a octubre del 2018, para el cual se caracterizó la Anfibios biodiversidad de los anfibios en 15 áreas productivas pertenecientes a 7 Cooperativas de Créditos y Servicios (CCS) ,1 Agroecosistemas Granja Integral del EJT y 1 Finca Forestal Integral de los municipios Yateras , Manuel Tames y Baracoa de la provincia Guantánamo y de Sagua de Tánamo de la provincia Holguín. En los agroecosistemas evaluados se inventariaron un total de seis especies de anfibios, de ellos dos especies de sapos y cuatro especies de ranas. La especie que presentó la mayor abundancia y frecuencia en todos los agroecosistemas fue la rana platanera (Osteopilus septentrionalis Duméril & Bibron). Estos resultados obedecen a que el esfuerzo de muestreo en áreas cafetaleras fue muy superior con relación al resto de los agroecosistemas y, abarcó localidades alejadas entre sí con diferencias en su vegetación arbustiva y arbórea. Every sailor can trust the north-eastern trade winds. 10 to 25 knots are the norm. There is besides that something noteworthy about Cuba. It has the lowest rate of hurricane appearances in the Antilles. The waters around Cuba Due to the geographical size of Cuba you have to decide in which waters you want to sail. At your disposal are Varadero, which is appealing with its good international flight connections, comfortable hotels and what are probably the island’s most beautiful beaches or Cayo Largo, the Caribbean alternative on the fresher Atlantic coast or even La Habana where you can find one of the world’s most beautiful diving paradises.

Yateras y Caimanera se ganaron su es- pacio entre los 32 municipios que en Cuba no lamentaron muertes de niños menores de un año en la etapa, mientras San Anto- nio del Sur, Imías y El Salvador cumplieron el propósito nacional con tasas menores a cuatro. El ginecobstetra señaló al recién conclui- do 2020 como el segundo año con menos de 30 defunciones en la provincia, con 29 muertes causadas por infecciones conna- tales (ya presentes al momento del parto), hipertensión pulmonar severa, infecciones comunitarias, bajo peso al nacer y accidentes.
