The Newsletter of the Foxfire Property Owners Association FPOA Celebrates Fourth of July

Come join your fellow FPOA members and guests in celebrating America’s 241st birthday, Tuesday, July 4, at an old-fashioned picnic in the Village Green Park. This annual event is sponsored by the FPOA and will begin at 4:30 p.m. FPOA volunteers will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for all. Soft drinks, watermelon, condiments, plates, utensils and ice will be furnished by the Association. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share — anything from salad to dessert. Past years have seen a wonderful variety of homemade goodies for all to enjoy. There will be a nominal $5 charge per person for FPOA members and their immediate families, and a fee of $10 for non-members and guests. RESERVATIONS and PREPAYMENT ARE REQUIRED and can be made by mailing your check, made out to the FPOA, along with the form below, to Jim Heine, 4 Foxtail Lane, Foxfire Village, NC 27281, no later than June 27. Forms and payments can also be left in the drop-off box at the members room in the Foxfire clubhouse. See you there!

More than 60 people (plus a few furry friends) turned out on a beautiful spring evening to enjoy a few “Pink Panther” cartoons, followed by the main attraction, “Rogue One, A Star Wars Story.” The FPOA supplied popcorn and sodas – with the popcorn getting rave reviews! A big thank-you to Foxfire resident Roger Ward, co-owner of Ward Productions, who was very accommodat- ing in rescheduling this showing (at the start of Memorial Day weekend, no less), when the original date, May 12, was rained out. And a tip of the hat as well to Judy McCollum, Jim Heine, Helen Kirk, Page and Charlie Coker, and MJ Sheldon for helping to pull it all together. – Sue Sedlak FPOA FUN Page 3 Foxes on Parade Help celebrate Foxfire’s 40th anniversary of incorporation as a village by taking part in the inaugural Foxfire Village Fox Parade! Purchase a 20-inch unfinished ceramic fox for $20 and decorate it. No artistic talent? No worries! To help your creativity soar, the FPOA will sponsor a creative workshop in the park, led by our talented Foxfire artists. Then, join the Fox Parade! Your masterpiece foxes will be displayed at Foxfire Days’ annual Newcomers Picnic in September. Stay tuned for more details!

FPOA Village-Wide Yard Sale on Tap for Fall It’s not too soon to start looking through your closets, sorting through the toy box, cleaning out the garage and bravely venturing into the attic! The FPOA is tentatively planning a village-wide yard sale/vendor event in the Foxfire Village Green Park, with the beginning of October a possible date. We’d like to include a kids’ area, vendor/craft tables along with a general yard sale. We might even have a food truck or two show up. So watch for further details in upcoming is- sues of FoxTrax and the FPOA website. Thank you for your support! — MJ Sheldon Page 4 GOLF
