- 3 - WINDING THE BOBBIN

Gap Spool 1. Place thread spool and spool cap onto spool Spool cap pin. (Make sure the on the thread reel is towards right side before threading) Spool pin

2﹒Follow the arrow direction, thread as diagram.

3﹒Thread through inside of the opening on the bobbin edge, then place empty bobbin onto spindle.

4﹒Push bobbin winder to the right, hold the end of thread. Slowly press the foot control to start winding.

5﹒When bobbin winder is completed, release the foot control to stop machine then cut the thread.

6﹒Return winder spindle to left and remove wound bobbin.

If it is not winding evenly, make adjustments: Turn screw clock wise: position down. Turn screw counter clockwise: position up.

Until winding is even in bobbin.

- 5 - INSERTING AND REMOVING THE

BOBBIN

1. Release the lock of bobbin cover plate (push to right) and remove the bobbin cover.

2. Remove the bobbin.

3. With newly wound bobbin draw thread on bobbin out approx 10 cm, then put the bobbin in bobbin case.

4. Whilst gently pulling the bobbin thread allow this

to pass into indentation on bobbin case (A), and pull it towards to left.

- 6 - UPPER TENSION THREADING

1. TURN HANDWHEEL TOWARDS YOU UNTIL NEEDLE IS IN ITS HEIGHEST POSITION. 2. RAISE PRESSER FOOT. 3. PLACE REEL OF THREAD ON VERTICAL SPOOL PIN, AND FIT SPOOL PIN CAP 17 OR 18 ONTO SPOOL PIN TO SECURE COTTON REEL. 4. PULL THE THREAD UNDER THE THREAD GUIDE AND SLIDE IT UP OVER THE HOOK. (DIAGRAM 1) 5. PULL THE THREAD ACROSS THE TOP OF MACHINE, ENSURING IT IS LAID INBETWEEN THE TENSION LEVER DISCS ((DIAGRAM 2). 6. TAKE THE THREAD DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE OF SLOT AND UP THE LEFTHAND SIDE (DIAGRAM 3). 7. PULL THE THREAD FIRMLY, FROM RIGHT TO LEFT, OVER THE TAKE UP LEVER AND DOWN INTO THE TAKE UP LEVER EYE (DIAGRAM 4). 8. TAKE THREAD DOWM AND SLIDE INTO THREAD GUIDE FROM RIGHT (DIAGRAM 5). 9. SLIDE THREAD FROM RIGHT INTO NEEDLE BAR THREAD GUIDE (DIAGRAM 7). 10. THREAD NEEDLE FROM FRONT TO BACK MANUALLY. (ALTERNATIVLEY, TO USE NEEDLE THREADER, SEE NEXT PAGE).

- 7 - DRAWING UP BOBBIN THREAD

1. Hold the upper thread with your left hand and turn hand wheel slowly and towards you.

2. Gently pull the upper thread, and the lower thread will come up in a loop.

3. Pull both threads together taking them backwards and through presser foot to the rear of machine.

- 8 - SETTING STITCH WIDTH

1. THE WIDTH OF EACH IS SET AUTOMATICALLY. HOWEVER IT IS POSSIBLE ON SOME PATTERNS TO ADJUST WIDTH. IF BUZZER GIVES 3 BEEPS THE WIDTH LIMIT HAS BEEN REACHED. ADJUSTMENT IS DONE BY PRESSING+ OR – WIDTH . IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ADJUST SIZE OF LETTERS.

SETTING STITCH LENGTH

TO ADJUST STITCH LENGTH FOR NORMAL PRESS THE LENGTH +/- BUTTONS TO SUIT. ADJUSTMENT IS LIMITED WHEN SEWING PATTERNS, AND 3 BEEPS WILL BE HEARD WHEN THERE IS NO MORE ADJUSTMENT. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ADJUST LETTER SIZE.

You can make a pattern enlarge up to 5 times after you press “insert” button for these 14 kinds of pattern. You can decrease sizes when pressed “Delete”.

- 9 - DROP FEED MECHANISM USED FOR FREE HAND EMBROIDERY

1. TO LOWER THE FEED MECHANISM, IN ORDER TO SEW ON BUTTONS & DO FREE HAND EMBROIDERY, SLIDE “FEED DOG HEIGHT LEVER” No 28 TO LEFT. THIS WILL ENABLE THE TEETH TO DISENGAGE. 2. ENSURE THAT FOR FREE HAND EMBROIDERY FOOT No 11, EMBROIDERY FOOT, IS FITTED. 3. WHEN SEWING ON BUTTONS FOOT No 5 MUST BE FITTED. 4. TO RETURN TEETH TO NORMAL SEWING SLIDE FEED DOG HEIGHT LEVER No 28 TO THE RIGHT, AND TURN MACHINE BY HAND & REVOLUTIONS TO ENGAGE.

- 10 - AUTOMATIC NEEDLE THREADER

NOTE: NEEDLE MUST BE IN ITS HEIGHEST POSITION PRESSER FOOT MUST BE REMOVED WHEN USING AUTOMATIC THREADER. NEEDLE THREADER CANNOT BE USED WHEN USING A TWIN NEEDLE

1. RAISE NEEDLE TO ITS HEIGHEST POSITION.

2. LOWER NEEDLE THREADER TO ITS LOWEST POSITION.

3. HOOK “A” WILL AUTOMATICALLY INSERT ITSELF FROM THE REAR INTO EYE OF NEEDLE, ENABLING UPPER THREAD TO BE PLACED AROUND HOOK “B” FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, AND UNDER HOOK A.

4. WHILST HOLDING THREAD IN RIGHT HAND, AROUND 5 CM HIGHER THAN THE EYE OF THE NEEDLE, RAISE NEEDLE THREADER WITH LEFT HAND. RELAX HOLD ON RIGHT HAND AT THE SAME TIME TO ALLOW THREADER TO PULL THERAD THROUGH EYE OF NEEDLE.

- 11 - PATTERN SELECTION

1. SELECT THE PATTERN LIST YOU WISH TO CHOOSE FROM BY PRESSING BUTTON No 1. 2. PRESS BUTTON No 6. 3. USING BUTTONS No 7 SCROLL ALONG THE PATTERN LIST TO SELECT WHICH PATTERN YOU WANT. THEN PRESS BUTTON No 6 AGAIN TO CONFIRM PATTERN. WHEN SCROLLING THROUGH THE PATTERN LIST BY PRESSING BUTTONS No 5 THIS WILL TAKE YOU TO THE NEXT OR PREVIOUS LINE OF PATTERNS.

PATTERN END SELECTION BUTTON “PES”

1. WHEN SELECTING PATTERNS THE “<” SIGN WILL APPEAR ON THE SCREEN. BY PRESSING BUTTON No 12 THIS WILL ENSURE THAT THE MACHINE ALWAYS COMPLETES A PATTERN AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU FINISH SEWING. 2. BY PRESSING BUTTON No 13 THE PATTERNS CAN BE MIRRORED, AND THE MIRROR IMAGE WILL SHOW ON THE SCREEN.

PRESS BUTTON No 8, “PATTERN SELECTION BUTTON”, AND USING BUTTONS No 9 SCROLL UP & DOWN TO REACH THE REQUIRED PATTERN. 4. PRESS BUTTON No 8 TO SELECT DESIRED PATTERN, AND REPEAT 3&4 IT TO ADD AND SELECT MORE PATTERNS. 5. USING THE STITCH LENGTH BUTTONS WILL ENABLE SELECTION OF EITHER NUMBERS OR LETTERS.

- 13 - BUTTONHOLE SEWING Remake: Buttonhole patterns are one time stitches. 1. PLACE BUTTON IN BUTTONHOLE FOOT AND ADJUST SLOT TO SIZE OF BUTTON. Buttonhole lever 2. REMOVE ORDAINARY SEWING FOOT & FIT BUTTONHOLE FOOT.

(Diagram 1) 3. PULL UPPER & LOWER THREADS APPROX 10cm & LAY UNDER BUTTONHOLE FOOT.

4. PRESS PATTERN “SELECTION BUTTON” No 8 FOR SELECT MODE.

USE EITHER OF STITCH LENGTH BUTTONS TO SELECT BUTTONHOLE LINE, AND THEN SELECT DESIRED BUTTONHOLE BY USING EITHER OF STITCH WIDTH BUTTONS. (Diagram 2)

5. PRESS PATTERN SELECT BUTTON No 8 TO SECURE BUTTONHOLE.

6. MARK OUT POSITION OF BUTTONHOLE ON FABRIC. Buttonhole 7. PLACE FABRIC UNDER BUTTONHOLE locations (Marks) FOOT & LOWER FOOT.

8. LOWER BUTTONHOLE LEVER, No 12, LOCATED UNDER LIGHT, AT REAR OF Bartacks

NEEDLE THREADER (Diagram 3) (SEE DIAGRAM 1).

9. START SEWING SLOWLY UNTIL

FABRIC RETURNS TO THE START LINE AND THEN STOP SEWING. Button adjuster 10. RAISE BUTTONHOLE FOOT &

REMOVE FABRIC.
