NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION The Department of Costume Design and Fashion celebrated the “National Handloom Day” on 07.08.2019. Glimpses of 2019 - 2020 WORKSHOPS A total of 37 UG and PG students participated in “FASHION ILLUSTRATION SKETCHING” workshop conducted by Fashion Designer Club, Tex Valley on 28/06/2019. A Workshop on “Sketching and Fashion Illustration” for our I year UG and PG students was conducted by Ms.Meenakshi Venkatesh, Director of Meenakshi School of Fine Arts, Erode on 29/07/2019 and 30/07/2019. A Workshop on “Screen Printing” was conducted by Mr.Vijay Anand, Anand Textiles, Tirupur on 16/08/2019 for our III year UG and I PG students. A Workshop on “Personal Makeover” for our PG students was conducted by Ms.S.Dharanya, UO Makeover, Erode on 11/01/2020. A Workshop on “Digital Marketing” for our final UG and I PG students was conducted by M/s. Accent Techno Soft, Coimbatore on 17/02/2020. Glimpses of 2019 - 2020 INDUSTRIAL VISITS/ OTHER VISITS An educational tour was organized for III UG and II PG students to National Gallery of Modern Art, Bengaluru on 23/08/2019. Industrial visits to Adhya Exports, Tirupur, Sri Velan Spinners, Vellakovil, Meera Creations, Perumanallur were arranged for our students to enrich their knowledge in the field of textiles and fashion on 21/09/2019. An industrial visit was organized for II UG students to soap manufacturing unit - Star Chemicals and Weaving unit - Parameshwari Textiles, Erode on 24/02/2020. WEBINAR The Department organized a webinar on “CHALLENGES IN PERSONAL PROTECTIVE CLOTHING” by the resource person Dr.V.R.GIRIDEV, Professor and Head, Department of Textile Technology, Anna University, Chennai on 31/05/2020. Glimpses of 2019 - 2020 INTRA TALENT SHOW Intra Talent competitions were organized for our department students on 23/09/2019 to exhibit their talents, in which the final year UG students won the Rolling Trophy for the academic year 2019 - 2020. NATIONAL LEVEL SEMINAR National level seminar on “Sustainable Fashion and Textiles” was organized on 14/08/2019.The chief guest was Mr.Alakan Karupannan, Head- Marketing, Business Innovation and Sustainability, Pallavaa Group, Erode. Resource persons for the National level seminar: Ms. Veena Kotian Thimmaiah, Assistant Professor, Army Institute of Fashion and Design, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Mr. Sreejith Jeevan, Head of Design and Founder, ROUKA by Sreejith Jeevan, Kochi, Kerala. Mr. Mahilan Surendran, Head - Laundry Unit, K G Denim Limited, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. X-TRAVAGANZA X-Travaganza, an Exhibition cum Sale was organized on 21.01.2020 and 22.01.2020 to explore the creativity and talents of our students. Glimpses of 2019 - 2020 GUEST LECTURES A Guest lecture on “Fashion Photography” for our PG Students and our Value added course students was conducted by Mr.Karthick Chandra sekaran, Proprietor, Studio K, Erode on 31/07/2019. A Guest lecture on “Boutique Management” was organized for final years and Advanced Learners of our department on 07/02/2020 by Ms.Kiruthika Palanisamy, Proprietor, Step-In Showroom, Erode. EXTENSION ACTIVITY An Extension activity was conducted on “Craft Making” at Panchayat Union Primary School, Nanjanapuram by our Students on 23/01/2020. MOU’S The Department of Costume Design and Fashion signed a MoU with Tex Valley on 12/06/2019. Glimpses of 2019 - 2020 ALUMNI - STUDENTS INTERACTION PROGRAMME Alumni Interactive Session for UG and PG students was conducted by our Alumni Mr.RATHESH RAGUNATHAN, Senior Manager – Garment Division, Grupokaybee, Peru, South America through Virtual mode on 29/05/2020. ABSTRACT: In the 21st century textile market is has become a battle textiles brands. The survival of the fittest principle is demanding the global and the local brand managers to formulate their marketing strategies in such a way that can get them a competitive edge over their rival textile brands. The battle of the brands at the local level is also getting tougher. In the competition to the global textile brands the local textiles brands are trying to their level best to develop their own competencies and build their unique selling propositions. Every day new brands are making their ways to the market and making the battlefield more challenging and complicated. Texvalley is one of the emerging textile mall in the south India. The current study was incorporated to empirically investigate the relationship between Texvalley marketing strategies factors and consumers purchase intention. Regression analysis was used to analyse the relationship between the dependent and independent variables. The results of the study revealed a positive relationship between the product, place and promotional strategies of Texvalley and consumer purchase intention. Whereas a weak relationship between the pricing strategies of the brand and consumer purchase intention was recorded. This study will be useful for the textiles in Tamil Nadu.
