Did you catch the recent ABC-TV Turning Point program devoted to four gay and les- bian couples, their commitments and wed- ding ceremonies? Perhaps these kinds of open looks at and discussions of topics that so many straight people don't under- stand and even fear may change a few minds and open a few eyes ... and, one hopes, even protect us from future mis- guided DOMA-style legislation. One can dream .... Etheridge and Cypher also appeared recently on ABC's 20/20, talking to Barbara Walters about their plans to have a baby together.
