Dr. Naqvi’s and Humanities Program (Pilot)

Overview

Navigating the premedical landscape is difficult. Most of what we focus on during our premed years does not translate to skills that will make us better . This internship is focused on the human side of medicine because I believe this will translate to better care for our , especially when introduced early in your training.

Your job as a pre-med student is NOT to learn medicine. Instead, you should focus on how to connect with people, how to understand the obstacles that prevent wellness, and how to effectively advocate for those you care for.

Through this internship, I hope to focus on topics that are frequently overlooked in pre-medical (and even medical) training. I will guide you in developing projects centered around the topics below that you will be able to put on your resume and will benefit your application.

Overall, I hope you will gain a deeper appreciation of the art of medicine and how our own imperfections make us better physicians.

I am excited to start this journey with you and look forward to all the amazing work you will do!
