Biographical Note George Koether was a journalist, speechwriter, businessman, lecturer, economist, a friend to Ludwig and Margit von Mises, and a longtime ambassador for Misesian economics. He was born on July 28, 1907, in Newark, New Jersey. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and attended Albion College in Michigan, where he studied journalism. He also studied business administration at Columbia University, New York.
