The infor- mation assisted greatly in shaping the recommendations, which will strengthen the Library system and make it more responsive to the needs of our communities.

Project Team The initial Request for Proposal by the City of Dallas for a Facilities Assessment & Program described a somewhat unconventional consultant team organization and an unusual approach to professional services scheduling and delivery. It called for the commissioning of an architectural firm that would hep select and then lead a team of consultants in establishing a comprehensible Library System Master Plan. All portions of this team were to work concurrently, coordination their efforts and findings as the progress of each separate trajectory demanded. In addition to the traditional engineering and design consultants, the team assembled by the selected firm, The Hillier Group, would necessarily include sub-consultant specialist who will provide assessment and rec- ommendations for a broad and complex range of library issues.
