Organising a Sweepstake Sweepstake competitions are a really fun and easy way to help raise money for St Nicholas Hospice Care. There are a few basic rules that you will need to follow when organising your sweepstake. We’ve listed them below and you can find out more by visiting the Gambling Commission website here www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk: • The entry price must be the same for all participants. • You need to decide before hosting your competition if the entry money will be split between the winner and St Nicholas Hospice Care, or if you are going to have a separate prize provided by you with all entry fees going to the Hospice. Whichever approach you take, participants must be informed before they enter and the host cannot make a profit (ie funds will need to be donated). • Office sweepstakes can only take place in one office with people in the same premises and must not be promoted outside of the workplace. • You must not sell entry on the street or house to house or online. • You must state how long your sweepstake will run from and to.
