  • INTERNATIONAL CRICKET COUNCIL (“ICC”) V. SALMAN BUTT
INTERNATIONAL CRICKET COUNCIL (“ICC”) v. SALMAN BUTT, MOHAMMAD ASIF AND MOHAMMAD AMIR DETERMINATION REDACTED BY THE ICC PRIOR TO PUBLICATION ___________________________________________________________ Appearances: Jonathan Taylor, Iain Higgins and Jamie Herbert for ICC Ali Naseem Bajwa and Yasin Patel for Mr Butt Alexander Cameron QC and David Savell for Mr Asif Shahid Karim and Umar Rasheed for Mr Amir INTRODUCTION 1. This case raises issues of great moment for the world of cricket. A substantial number of the original allegations featured in an article in the News of the World (''NoTW'') on 29th August 2010 under the authorship of its investigations editor Mazhar Mahmood (“MK”)1. It is alleged that three Pakistani cricketers Salman Butt, the Captain, and Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, the fast bowling opening pair, agreed for reward with Mazhar Majeed, a Pakistani businessman living in England, to perform certain corrupt actions in two particular Test matches played between Pakistan and England at the Oval2 and at Lords3. In the case of the Lords’ Test it is further alleged that these actions – the deliberate bowling of no balls - were actually carried out. International Journal of Scientific & Engineering Research Volume 9, Issue 12, December-2018 1967 ISSN 2229-5518 Cricinfo Analysis to find patterns in profiles for Predicting future Captain Muhammad Kashif Faiz1, Dr. Malik Muhammad Saad Missen2 1Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Islamia University Bahawalpur, Pakistan. 2Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Islamia University Bahawalpur, Pakistan. [email protected] ABSTRACT The selection of captain is dependent on the performance of players in terms of various parameters in their areas of expertise. In this thesis we propose a method for measuring qualitative parameters in existing captains’ profile and by developing an ideal profile, we set a threshold, that can be applied any of the player for predicting about whether he can be next captain or not. A real dataset of more than 76 Captain of different countries from Cricinfo is considered for analysis purpose. The findings from our research can be used to improve the quality of information retrieval and decision making. Cricinfo is a large database and having information about large number of players estimated about 50000 players from all over the world. So it can be considerable for different types of experiments and analysis. Our aim in this research work is to search and forecast about behaviors of existing captain profile's data and by building an ideal profile, forecasting about other players, where any other player is suitable for captainship or not. Keywords: Cricket, Strategy, Ranking, Prediction, qualitative analysis IJSER 1. Introduction Expert System are used to solve problem as a human can do.
