  • Dobber's 2010-11 Fantasy Guide
DOBBER’S 2010-11 FANTASY GUIDE DOBBERHOCKEY.COM – HOME OF THE TOP 300 FANTASY PLAYERS I think we’re at the point in the fantasy hockey universe where DobberHockey.com is either known in a fantasy league, or the GM’s are sleeping. Besides my column in The Hockey News’ Ultimate Pool Guide, and my contributions to this year’s Score Forecaster (fifth year doing each), I put an ad in McKeen’s. That covers the big three hockey pool magazines and you should have at least one of them as part of your draft prep. The other thing you need, of course, is this Guide right here. It is not only updated throughout the summer, but I also make sure that the features/tidbits found in here are unique. I know what’s in the print mags and I have always tried to set this Guide apart from them. Once again, this is an automatic download – just pick it up in your downloads section. Look for one or two updates in August, then one or two updates between September 1st and 14th. After that, when training camp is in full swing, I will be updating every two or three days right into October. Make sure you download the latest prior to heading into your draft (and don’t ask me on one day if I’ll be updating the next day – I get so many of those that I am unable to answer them all, just download as late as you can). Any updates beyond this original release will be in bold blue.

  • Jets Weren't Bad, but for the Biggest Game in Franchise History, They Needed to Be Great
Winnipeg Free Press https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/jets-werent-bad-but-for-the-biggest-game-in- franchise-history-they-needed-to-be-great-482074813.html Jets weren't bad, but for the biggest game in franchise history, they needed to be great By: Paul Wiecek The fans remaining stood stunned at the Jets 4-0 loss against the Nashville Predators after the 3rd period Monday night. We’ve got the loudest fans, we tell ourselves. We’ve got the most passionate fans, we tell ourselves. We’ve got the most patient and deserving fans, we tell ourselves. And maybe we do. But someone forgot to tell the Nashville Predators. And in the biggest game in franchise history on Monday night, the Winnipeg Jets simply didn’t. A 4-0 Predators victory in Game 6 at Bell MTS Place — the Jets second straight loss at home this series — let Nashville off the ropes and sent the series to a seventh and deciding game in Nashville Thursday night. It says something about where these two franchises are in their development curves that Nashville brought their very best game to their very biggest game, while the Jets didn’t. Down 3-2 in this series and facing elimination Monday night, the Predators — from netminder Pekka Rinne out — were superb in Game 6, looking every bit like what they are: a seasoned and experienced team that had been in plenty of games just like this one during a run to the Stanley Cup final last season. And the Jets? They also looked every bit like what they are: a young and inexperienced team that had never played in a game with this kind of magnitude.

Buffalo Sabres Daily Press Clips December 30, 2015 Sabres-Capitals Preview By Kevin Massoth AP December 30, 2015 Braden Holtby doesn't need much help these days, but the scheduling gods have lined the Washington Capitals' goaltender up with consecutive games against one of the NHL's worst offenses. Two days after shutting out the Buffalo Sabres, Holtby will try to help the Capitals to their ninth straight win Wednesday night in the conclusion of a home-and-home set at Verizon Center. Washington (27-6-2) is off to the best start in franchise history and padded its huge lead ahead of both New York teams in the Metropolitan Division with Monday's 2-0 win at Buffalo. The Capitals have a chance to take the season series on Wednesday while winning nine games in a row for the first time since Feb. 26-March 15, 2011. The Capitals have also won eight games in a row at home and are 14-3-1 at Verizon Center. Holtby has six wins during Washington's streak, upping his league-leading total to 23. His last regulation loss came on Nov. 10, and he is 15-0-1 since. Holtby holds a 1.68 goals-against average in his last 20 starts and has pushed aside 60 of 61 shots in his last two. Captain Alex Ovechkin scored his team-leading 18th goal in Monday's win for a team that ranks second in the NHL with 3.09 goals per game. Still, he pointed to the man in net as the difference as Holtby posted the 22nd shutout of his career and second this season.
