Maps and Directions Bowland High, Riversmead, Grindleton, BB7 4QS

From the M6 or Preston Leaving the M6 motorway at junction 31, take the A59 exit following the signs to Clitheroe. Where the A671 turns off left for Clitheroe continue to follow the A59 towards Skipton. Continue for 5 miles. The road goes through a deep cutting then down a hill. After a right-hand bend it goes up hill and becomes 2 lanes on one side. Go about 200m up the hill. Turn left – signed Sawley, Grindleton and Bolton By Bowland as well as a brown sign for Sawley Abbey. Follow the road through Sawley - it takes a sharp left at the Spread Eagle pub. Continue to follow the road over the river. Just after the bridge there is a junction. Take the left fork (staying close to the river) to Grindleton, Waddington and West Bradford. The road leaves the river after 200m and goes up a steep hill. On the brow of the hill the entrance to the school is on the right.

From the north Either (a): Take the A59 or A682 to Gisburn, then continue along A59 towards Clitheroe. After about 4 miles the road goes down a long straight hill and the other carriageway becomes 2 lanes. Near the bottom of the hill turn right - signed Sawley, Grindleton and Bolton By Bowland as well as a brown sign for Sawley Abbey. Follow the road through Sawley - it takes a sharp left at the Spread Eagle pub. Continue to follow the road over the river. Just after the bridge there is a junction. Take the left fork (staying close to the river) to Grindleton, Waddington and West Bradford. The road leaves the river after 200m and goes up a steep hill. On the brow of the hill the entrance to the school is on the right. Or (b): From Settle take country roads through Rathmell and Wigglesworth. Follow signs to Sawley. After about 12 miles, just before crossing the River Ribble into Sawley at a sharp left hand bend, there is a turning to the right signposted Grindleton, Waddington and West Bradford. The road initially follows the River (which is to the left) then leaves it after 200m and goes up a steep hill. On the brow of the hill the entrance to the school is on the right.

From Colne/Nelson/Burnley Take A682 to Gisburn from Barrowford or junction 13 of the M65. Then take A59 towards Clitheroe and follow remaining directions as for option (a) from the north.

From Accrington Take A680 through Clayton le Moors towards Whalley. Join A671 and continue to the roundabout at the junction with the A59. Turn right onto A59 and travel for just over 5 miles. Turn left – signed Sawley, Grindleton and Bolton By Bowland as well as a brown sign for Sawley Abbey and follow remaining directions as for from M6/Preston.

From Blackburn From Brownhill Roundabout follow A666 signposted Whalley. Go through Langho and at the roundabout take the second exit to follow A59 towards Clitheroe. Where the A671 turns off left for Clitheroe, continue to follow the A59 towards Skipton. Now follow remaining directions as for M6/Preston above.

Car Parking: After turning right into the school site, visitors should immediately turn right again up a ramp to a car park where there are a number of spaces reserved for visitors.
