TEMPLE UNIVERSITY IN : SIENA RESEARCH PROGRAM 2021 COST SHEET

BILLABLE COSTS The following costs will appear on your Temple University bill: Tuition, Siena Program Fee, and University Services Fee.

TUITION Per university policy, Temple students will be charged their home school tuition. Visit Temple University’s Bursar Office website to calculate your tuition rate. Undergraduate students will be billed at the part time rate (per credit hour x the number of credit hours to be taken abroad).

SIENA FEE * $3000 The Siena Fee includes shared accommodations with kitchen facilities, comprehensive orientation, including walking tour, survival Italian language course, program excursions to Italian hospitals, labs or other sites of importance to healthcare in Italy, welcome and farewell meals, local transit pass for duration of the program, lab supplies, access to IES-arranged cultural events (which have previously included Palio Race Day, Contrada Visit and Dinner, Santa Maria della Scala Hospital tour), access to IES-arranged optional day and field trips (at your own expense, which have previously included visits to sites such as , Populonia-Baratti, and and ), access to study abroad center with library, computer lab, printing and Wi-Fi and 24/7 on-site and emergency support in Siena; and some expenses related to COVID entry requirements, such as quarantine or testing, if applicable.

ESTIMATES FOR NON-BILLABLE COSTS In addition to the costs that appear on your bill, we provide the following estimates for items that do not appear on your bill:

In addition to the items above, students should budget money for entrance fees related to extracurricular activities, personal travel, and any additional personal expenses.

**Non-Temple students who require a transcript will need to order one through TUPortal. Further instructions can be found on Temple’s Registrar’s website.

***All study abroad students are required to have a working cell phone (either a U.S. number or a local phone number) for the duration of the program.

****Additional expenses may include optional trip-cancellation insurance, pre-arrival testing, additional quarantine room or board expenses, etc. and will vary based on plans purchased and/or entry requirements at the time of departure

We recommend that students follow the exchange rate prior to and during their summer abroad, either through the newspaper or a currency exchange web site such as oanda.
