“Paquillo” Fernández Y “Juanma” Molina, Compiten En Polonia Nota de Prensa nº 047’/2008 - Madrid, 23 de mayo de 2008 [email protected]– www.rfea.es “Paquillo” Fernández y “Juanma” Molina, compiten en Polonia Los dos mejores especialistas españoles de 20km marcha, “Paquillo” Fernández y “Juanma” Molina, competirán el sábado 24 de mayo en Cracovia (Polonia) con motivo de la quinta prueba puntuable de la Challenge Mundial de Marcha de la IAAF, que en 2008 tiene a España como protagonista, pues además del Gran Premio “Los Cantones” de La Coruña del próximo 7 de junio, la sexta prueba puntuable y habitual representante española en este calendario internacional de marcha, el 21 de septiembre se disputará en Murcia la Final de este exclusivo circuito mundial de marcha. Los dos marchadores españoles, ya han dejado su carta de presentación durante El 21 de este año en la Copa del Mundo de Marcha septiembre se disputada en Cheboksari los pasado días celebra en 10 y 11 de mayo. En esa localidad rusa, Murcia la “Paquillo” Fernández se impuso con un Final de la registro de 1h18:15 y “Juanma” Molina fue Challenge octavo con un crono de 1h19:19. Con Mundial de estas marcas, nuestra pareja de Marcha de la marchadores ocupan la segunda y novena IAAF posición del ránking mundial del año. With prizes on offer, everyone was out to race hard and we actually saw plenty of people beat their Season Bests and some even doing PBs. Editorial People all over the world love race walking. It started here, and now reaches into every continent. I often find myself in contact with people in far-off exotic locations. I’ve just recently returned from racing in Switzerland and France. Faces become familiar from race to race abroad, and people eventually introduce themselves and over time become friends. Many readers have told me how they have made long- term friends at overseas events. Several people at the Swiss event turned up six days later at the French event 500 miles away, and supported each other just because they had that one common link. Race Walking is treated slightly differently within each country, but walkers have a huge respect for each other whether they are Olympians or just fitness walkers. UK walkers race abroad in many countries each year, and welcome overseas walkers to events here. This magazine is now sent to readers in twenty different countries, and growing... People queuing behind me at the post office each month really hate me, as I have so many international magazines to send, one-by-one! On my holiday I found the source of the River Danube and ceremoniously set one of my old trainers floating down it. An hour later, the other one was set floating down the River Rhine. (Please don’t litter!) You can’t just throw away something that has brought you so much enjoyment! Am I crazy? Aren’t all race walkers..

  • Iaaf Comments on Independent Commission's Report #1
    IAAF COMMENTS ON INDEPENDENT COMMISSION'S REPORT #1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY On 9 November 2015, the Independent Commission issued a report (the IC Report) that set out evidence of widespread doping by Russian athletes, but also suggested that 'particular highly placed members and officials of IAAF' may have taken bribes to delay the bringing of anti-doping charges against certain athletes in 2012. On that basis, the Independent Commission suggested that it had 'identified systemic failures within the IAAF and Russia that prevent or diminish the possibility of an effective anti-doping program …'. These allegations of corruption by individuals formerly associated with the IAAF are truly abhorrent, and the IAAF cannot, and does not, seek to avoid or downplay them in any way. The IAAF wishes to salute the courage of the whistle-blowers (including its own staff members) who have helped to expose the wrongdoing described in the IC Report. It will do everything in its power to punish the wrongdoers and to reform its own systems to make sure that no one can ever again interfere improperly with its anti-doping procedures. However, the IAAF believes it is also important to point out that: ñ No doping case has been covered up by the IAAF. All cases that should have been pursued were pursued and all cases that should have been sanctioned were sanctioned in accordance with IAAF Rules and the World Anti-Doping Code. ñ The IAAF is aware of four cases where (as the Independent Commission suggests) there were unexplained and suspicious delays in the prescribed results management process.
