Trivium Preparatory Academy 2019 Spring Formal Policies and Code

REGISTRATION & ATTENDANCE PROTOCOL 1) All students planning to attend must fill out and turn in a student registration form. Tickets are payable in advance only (not at the door) and are non-refundable. 2) TVP junior and senior students may attend. TVP 10th grade students may attend as the guest of a junior or senior. 3) Non-TVP guests may be invited as long as they: 1) are high school students in 10th, 11th or 12th grade with administrative permission. 2) Guest have filled out the Guest Registration Form, and 3) provide a copy of their student ID or driver’s license along with permission form. 4) This is a closed event – no student or guest will be allowed to leave and then return. Dinner will be served around 7:00pm. Please have your student arrive prior to dinner, and they may not leave until the formal is over at 10:00pm.

DRESS CODE

Ladies: o Formal that is just above the knee to floor length. o Thin-strap, spaghetti-strap, and strapless are permitted; however, gowns should not be ‘revealing’ or low-cut. In front, gowns may be no lower than four closed-finger lengths below the collarbone; in back, gown must be no lower than mid-back. o Bare midriffs and any other “holes” in the gown are not permitted. o Dress are required and must remain on the feet the entire evening. o If you arrive at the spring formal in a dress that does not meet the above requirements, you may be turned away at the door. Gentlemen: o A formal tuxedo – i.e., “ attire” – is strongly encouraged; formal are acceptable as well (see below for guidelines on suits). o Tuxedos with (vests) and are acceptable o Ties, vests, and (if worn) may be colored, if desired, but black or white is strongly encouraged. o Dress shoes are required and must remain on the feet the entire evening.

A Note on Wearing Suits Instead of a Tuxedo: o Suits must be formal and properly-fitting o Pants and must match o Dress and tasteful tie are required o If you arrive at the spring formal in a that does not meet the above requirements, you may be turned away at the door.

ETIQUETTE 1) Keep displays of affection to a tasteful minimum; remember you are part of a larger group. Kissing is not permitted.

DISCIPLINARY ISSUES In the unlikely case a student commits a violation in the following areas, s/he will be asked to leave the event immediately and parents will be notified. 1) Offenses involving possession/use/intoxication by any drug, alcohol, or tobacco product 2) Failure to follow chaperone instructions, or responding to such instructions with disobedience or disrespect 3) Failure to follow required attendance protocol, , or etiquette policies
