Winners play for best-of-five American Association championship. ROSTER RULES The roster limit for a American Association club is 22 players. An additional two players may be on the disabled list during the regular season. Of those 22 players, a maximum of five may be veterans and minimum of four must be rookies. The remaining players will be designated limited service players and of those LS players only six (6) may be LS-4. During the pre-season, a maximum of 28 players may be under contract at any one time without regard to classification. The 22 active player roster must be met two days before the start of the regular season. That season marked the first year in which UCLA won each of its home Pac-10 series, taking two of three games from conference foes Washington State, Arizona State, USC and Stanford. UCLA finished third in the Pac-10 that season with a 13-10 conference record. COACHING STAFF A tenacious recruiter with a keen eye for developing talent, Savage and his coaching John staff has found success on the recruiting trail. Twelve of his 14 recruiting classes have been nationally ranked in the top-25 by Baseball America. UCLA’s incoming class in the fall of 2012 was rated No. 2, nationally, by Baseball America, the highest-such Savage ranking of any of Savage’s recruiting classes. UCLA’s incoming group in the fall of 2006 was ranked No. 5, followed by No. 13 (fall 2007), No. 7 (fall 2008), No. 7 (fall Head Coach 2009), No. 19 (fall 2010), No. 3 (fall 2011), No. 2 (fall 2012), No. 7 (fall 2014), No. 3 15th Season at UCLA (fall 2015), No. 16 (fall 2016 and 2017) and No. 4 (fall 2018). 18th Season overall 2018 saw the Bruins consistently ranked inside the top-25 and make their 10th Nevada ‘91 postseason appearance with Savage at the helm earning the No. 2 seed at the Minneapolis Regional.
