SCHOLARSHIPS CEPT UNIVERSITY

CEPT University focuses on understanding, designing, planning, constructing and managing human habitats. CEPT University also undertakes advisory projects to further the goal of making habitats more liveable.

CEPT University takes its name from the ‘Center for Environmental Planning and Technology’ (CEPT). CEPT and the various schools that it comprised were established by the Education Society with the support of the Government of and the Government of . The incorporated CEPT as a university in 2005. The University Grants Commission recognized CEPT University under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 in 2007.

This five year undergraduate program equips students with the competencies necessary for being effective professional architects and exposes them to the aesthetic, technical, social, political and ethical dimensions of the built environment. This program leads to the award of the degree - Bachelor of Architecture degree.

Eligibility: A candidate must have passed Standard XII (10+2) or its equivalent Examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects from State Boards, CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/IB. OR Candidate must have passed Diploma 10+3 pattern of any stream with subject of Mathematics from Technical Examination Board of any state or from a university established under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956. OR International Baccalaureate Diploma and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination

Note: Additionally the student will have to meet the minimum qualifying marks for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) test as per Council of Architecture. BACHELOR OF URBAN DESIGN

This five year undergraduate program leads to the award of the degree - Bachelor of Urban Design degree (BUD). In this course, students will learn to design for the public, and will examine the life and structure of cities through the study of interactions of political frameworks, social and cultural relationships, and economic dynamics with the physical landscapes and systems that form the city. These skills will allow them to effectively support projects in many capacities related to the urban realm, like the design of streets and junctions, parks, gardens, playgrounds, waterfront area s, bus stops, and other types of transport facilities.

Eligibility: Applicants should have passed the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination) or its equivalent examination from any streams (Science, Commerce and Arts/Humanities), from any State boards or CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/IB. OR Applicants should have passed the Diploma (10+3 pattern) of any stream from Technical Board of any state or from a college/ university established under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956.

The five year undergraduate program in Construction Technology leads to the award of the degree - Bachelor of Construction Technology. The program equips students with competencies necessary for being effective professional engineers and exposes them to technical, managerial and social dimensions of the built environment.

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed HSC (10+2) Examination from any State board with Science Stream or its equivalent in CBSE/ CISCE/NIOS/IB with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/Bio- technology/Biology/Computer as optional subject (all at higher/advance level).

To facilitate the holistic development of the designer, education at the Faculty of Design employs a threefold approach. First is the enrichment of the mind by inputs from the liberal arts, second is the development of the skills of the hands by experimenting in the workshop and the third is the synthesis of this knowledge into design solutions relevant to the physical as well as the temporal context. The five year undergraduate program in Interior Design leads to the award of the degree - Bachelor of Interior Design.

(BUILDING PRODUCTS AND SYSTEMS/FURNITURE)

B. Design (Building Products and System /Furniture) program focuses on development and design of products and systems that are part of built spaces. The program builds on human centered design and generate solutions that balance aesthetics, performance, and other parameters. It lays strong emphasis on hands on experimentation and working with emergent technologies. The goal of this program is to provide future designers knowledge and skills in the field of industrial design, specifically the design of products that are part of the built environment.

Eligibility: Applicants should have passed the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination) or its equivalent examination from any streams (Science, Commerce and Arts/Humanities), from any State boards or CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/IB. OR Applicants should have passed the Diploma (10+3 pattern) of Civil, mechanical, architecture, or architectural assistantship stream from Technical Board of any state or from a college/university established under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956.
