Method Man, along with Hailey Baldwin, will host the comedic music competition series Drop the Mic, based on the popular segment from The Late Late Show with James Corden, where celebrities will put their battle rapping skills to the test. The series premieres Thursday, October 26 at 10 p.m. Corden, Ben Winston and Jensen Karp serve as executive producers, with Joanna Gallagher as co-executive producer. Snoop Dogg Presents The Joker's Wild features the entertainment icon hosting an updated version of the classic game show that he used to watch with his grandmother when he was a child. The reboot is set in his very own casino, complete with a larger-than-life slot machine, giant dice and playing cards. Streetwise questions and problem solving-not just book smarts-will rule the floor. The series are part of TBS' scheduled launch of 15 original series between now and 2018, following a brand rebuilt that led to a string of hits in 2016, including Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Angie Tribeca and Wrecked. "Last year, we broke away from the confines of traditional comedy series and pushed ourselves in new direction with six fresh and distinctive series that were unlike anything else on television," said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS, in a statement. -

Lyricist Gandhiji – Revisited September 20, 2012. ‘Ganesh’ festival holiday. So, set out for a short trip cum outing to Ahmadabad, (Gujrat, India) with my wife. As this was the first visit, tour to ‘Akshardham’ temple and ‘Sabarmati ashram’ were on top priorities. Akshardham temple was a very nice place but It was quite hot outside the temple as we set out towards Sabarmati. Car driver too was quite restless due to this unusual heat. However, as we approached the town, suddenly the atmosphere changed with black clouds in the sky and a real transfer scene. It was getting ready to pour anytime. Just before this visit, I had read a nice book ‘Meera and Mahatma’ by Sudheer Kakkar. It had many pages describing this sacred place. This was an ideal laboratory for preparing volunteers for freedom struggle and ‘Satyagraha’. Gandhiji had spent several years here with his novel experiments in many fields. His disciple and close associate Meeraben also spent many years of her youth. She was a British lady but had faith in Gandhiji’s philosophy and joined his work at Sabarmati. This book describes lives of Meera and Mahatma, a young revolutionary Prithvising occupying her life for a while, Gandhiji’s advice to her in such a situation and so on. So, I had lots of vague images of that period and people in my mind. Akshardham temple is located far away from town and the ashram is now quite inside the city. The temple has lot of strict security due to a terrorist attack few years ago. -

FOREIGNER Can't slow down (Rock FM / AOR / Westcoast) Année de sortie : 2009 Nombre de pistes : 13 Durée : 49' Support : MP3 Provenance : Acheté Je vais débuter cette chronique du retour aussi inespéré qu'inattendu d'une légende du Hard-Rock / Rock-FM par quelques chiffres : 1/ Premier album 1977 (Foreigner) Ce Can't Slow Down déboule donc 32 ans plus tard (jolie carrière tout de même !) et est le neuvième studio du groupe ! 2/ FOREIGNER a vendu plus de 65 millions de cds au monde. (Et c'est pas fini !) Après ses 3 remarquables et remarqués premiers albums (1977 Foreigner, 1978 Double Vison, 1979 Head Games), c'est en 1981 que le groupe explose les compteurs avec 4 (avec le géant John Mutt LANGE aux "manettes"). Agent Provocateur, 1984 laissera une place conséquente aux claviers et placera encore quelques hymnes (I Wanna Know What Love Is, That Was Yesterday) dans les charts mondiaux. La suite, c'est Inside Information en 1987, un bon album avec son single "Say You Will", puis le départ de son chanteur Lou GRAMM... Et avant son retour pour un agréable et calme Mr Moonlight en 1995, FOREIGNER offre un Unusual Heat inégal dont je retiens la ballade I'll Fight For You, avec un nouveau et excellent chanteur (Johnny EDWARDS). Vous noterez donc qu'il aura fallu attendre 14 ans pour que FOREIGNER livre un nouvel opus. Attente récompensé s'il en est ! FOREIGNER revient donc en 2009 avec une formule à 6 musiciens, comme à ses débuts. Mais des débuts justement, il ne reste que Mick JONES, notre anglais dont le duo avec Lou GRAMM, notre américain fit des miracles d'écritures par le passé ! En revanche, bonne pioche pour le choix du nouveau chanteur absolument prodigieux et nommé Kelly HANSEN. -
