[email protected] 617.552.4012 For Immediate Release: “GREAT BIG STUFF” ONSTAGE AT BC Boston College Theatre Department to Present April 27 - May 1, 2011 Chestnut Hill, MA (April 13, 2011) – The Boston College Theatre Department and Robsham Theater Arts Center are proud to present the final production of the 2010-11 Season, the hit musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Adapted from the 1988 feature film comedy starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine, the musical tells the story of two con artists battling head to head in an effort to swindle an heiress out of her riches. Featuring music and lyrics by David Yazbek (The Full Monty) and a book by Jeffrey Lane, the production will be performed April 27 – May 1, 2011 on the Robsham Main Stage as part of the 13th Annual Boston College Arts Festival. Set in the beautiful French Riviera, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels presents the battle of wits between Lawrence Jameson, a sophisticated veteran charlatan, and Freddy Benson, an aspiring huckster who wants to learn from the master (and give him a run for his money). Their challenge to see who can be the first to swindle Christine Colgate, a naive American soap heiress, out of $50,000 leads to a game of one-upmanship full of clever disguises and hilarious twists and turns. A supporting cast of vacationers, hotel workers, and wealthy socialites provide a series of song-and-dance numbers that add to merriment.
