2021 Sheffield Half Marathon & 10K Road Closures 2021 Sheffield Half Marathon & 10k Road Closures Important Information for Residents and Businesses Sunday 26th September 2021 Half Marathon Start Time: 09:00 10k Start Time: 13:30 Run For All are extremely pleased to be working in partnership with Sheffield City Council to deliver the Sheffield Half Marathon & Sheffield 10k. In accordance with Sheffield City Council being the highway authority for the Metropolitan District of Sheffield, an order has been made prohibiting and restricting the use of certain roads and road junctions by vehicles in order to facilitate the safe holding of the Sheffield Half Marathon. The event will require the closure of roads and road junctions as well as the suspension of a number of Traffic Regulation Orders between 04:00 and 18:00 on Sunday 26th September 2021. Please note, all roads either crossing or having a junction with the listed roads will also be closed at that point. A full list of road closures, including approximate times, is provided overleaf. We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your support of the 2021 Sheffield Half Marathon & Sheffield 10k. Please note; access for emergency service vehicles shall be retained throughout the duration of the event.     DEVELOPMENT SERVICES REPORT TO CITY CENTRE SOUTH AND EAST PLANNING AND HIGHWAYS AREA BOARD 19 NOVEMBER 2007 REPORT ON LONG LINE – EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC RESTRICTION 1.0 PURPOSE OF REPORT 1.1 To present the findings of the trial restriction on Long Line, Dore. 1.2 To advise on a way forward to address accidents at the junction of Hathersage Road, Long Line and Cross Lane. 2.0 INTRODUCTION 2.1 The junction of the A625 Hathersage Road with Long Line and Cross Lane in Dore has a high accident reduction priority based on the Council’s approved assessment method. Between 1 st November 1999 and 31 st October 2004 (the five year period considered at the outset of this investigation) there were fifteen accidents, which resulted in one fatality and twenty-one slight injuries. Location Plan of Long Line 2.2 A full accident analysis is set out in Appendix A. To summarise: • accidents involve drivers emerging injudiciously from both side roads, • the decision to pull out safely involves being aware of potentially conflicting manoeuvres of other vehicles at the crossroads, • a high proportion of elderly drivers were involved in the accidents, • vehicle speeds on Hathersage Road are not the main issue. 2.3 The broad solution is to reduce the difficulty of making the decision to pull out by removing the traffic emerging from the opposite side road, thereby reducing the number of potential conflicts. 2.4 The allocation of funding on schemes from the Local Transport Plan (LTP) Road Safety budget is determined by a calculation based on the history of injury accidents and whether a cost effective scheme is feasible.

Apart from a few dozen houses across the River Dun at Bridgehouses and in the Wicker, and a similar number at Parkhill, the whole of the built-up area was within a 600 yard radius centred on the Old Church.1 Within that brief radius the most northerly development was that at Bower Lane (Gibraltar), and only a limited incursion had been made hitherto into Colson Crofts (the fields between West Bar and the river). On the western and north-western edges there had been development along Hollis Croft and White Croft, and to a lesser degree along Pea Croft and Lambert Knoll (Scotland). To the south-west the building on the western side of Coalpit Lane was over the boundary in Ecclesall, but still a recognisable part of the town.2 To the south the gardens and any buildings were largely confined by the Park wall which kept Alsop Fields free of dwellings except for the ingress along the northern part of Pond Lane. The Rivers Dun and Sheaf formed a natural barrier on the east and north-east, and the low-lying Ponds area to the south-east was not ideal for house construction.
