AND SO WHAT IF CRISTIANO IS ‘TAPET ’? by Georgi FILIPOV (Bulgaria) / Laura TOMA (Romania) Summary The fight for the rights of lesbians and gays has taken big strides over the last few decades. But there are still some fields where to be a gay is an untouchable topic and football is one of them. The people from Bordeaux, football professionals and fans, are revealing the reasons which are not letting this barrier to be crossed. Article Have you ever imagined that your favorite player Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi is homosexual? Many fans probably have never thought on this issue. Others might have taunted the opposing star in anger simply because they suffered during a game. But imagine one of them to recognize himself as gay. Would you be shocked? Will you feel stuffed? Or you will respect him less? Perhaps the fans of Girondins Bordeaux should ask themselves the same questions. Yoann Gourcuff, one of the best French football players, was their idol for several years. And he is one of those who are suspected of being gay. But it seems that at least until the end of his playing career it will not be clear if it is true. Meanwhile Gourcuff is under pressure even from some teammates in Le Blues team. He was named “tapet” from Franck Ribery during the camp of the French national team before Euro 2012. ‘The issue is very complex, as in football the topic of diverse sexuality is taboo. Players prefer to keep it to themeselfes. There are players who have confessed, but after the end of their career”, Fabien Pujo, the coach of amateurs of Lormont, the second best football team in Bordeaux, said.

Financial year 2009/10 Champions League semi-finalist, 2nd place Ligue 1 finish Significant player investments: €95.8m Breakeven EBITDA Net loss, Group share: €-35.6m Sound financial structure Shareholders' equity of €130.8m Positive net cash of €15.4m Board decision to strengthen financial capacity by around €25m Lyon, 5 October 2010 On 5 October 2010, the Board of Directors of OL Groupe approved the financial statements for the 2009/10 financial year. OL Groupe has suffered a loss for the first time since 2004, the result of sharply contrasting factors. • Excellent on-the-pitch performance for men's and women's teams On-the-pitch performance was excellent. For the first time in its history, Olympique Lyonnais reached the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League. The club finished second in the French Ligue 1, and will compete in the UEFA Champions League for the 11th consecutive time. The women's team won the French Division 1 league title for the fourth consecutive time and played in the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League, marking a first for a French football club. • 4.7% rise in revenue excluding player trading Revenue from businesses excluding player trading rose 4.7%, with record levels of ticketing receipts and media rights. Conversely, revenue from sponsoring and advertising was down sharply, buffeted by the recession and repeated postponement of the French on-line gaming law. This prevented the club putting the BetClic sponsor on players' shirts for the entire season. Unfavourable economic conditions were also a drag on the international player trading market, and no transfers took place at the end of the season.

Olivier Giroud enlève son maillot et revêt un T-Shirt blanc sur lequel est marqué : « I am the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE…

  • Ligue-1-2016 2017.Pdf
A Note from the Editor: For many, Ligue 1 cannot restart quickly enough following an almost perfect, but fundamentally cruel EURO 2016 for France on home soil. The pain suffered on that night in Paris by Didier Deschamps’s men and an entire nation remains all the more heartrending because of the newfound professionalism that Les Bleus conducted themselves with throughout the tournament. Karim Benzema antics aside, contrary to years of squad infighting, the team spirit inside the French camp was the strongest it had been since 2000. On the pitch, France proved that they are on the cusp of a new golden generation, with Samuel Umtiti, Kingsley Coman and Antoine Griezmann all shining. Although some of Les Bleus’ much touted young guns fell short of expectations, namely Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial, France’s U19 EURO win further confirms that the future is astonishingly bright for French football on the international scene. One would not be foolish to expect there to be some turnover of talent for the 2018 World Cup cycle, with Patrice Evra and others’ involvement coming to an end. Much like Les Bleus therefore, Ligue 1 too can expect a very different feel for the 2016/17 season. PSG have entered a new era after President Al Khelaifi’s obsession for progression in the Champions’ League failed to be adequately satisfied by Laurent Blanc, leading to the latter’s dismissal. Les Parisiens have appointed Unai Emery in Blanc’s place, who brings a new-age management approach that relies on a squad instead of a team of individuals, a charge often leveled at Blanc’s PSG.
