For example, IMDA Lab on Wheels will hold an introductory lesson in computer science for children between the ages of nine and 12 to allow them to create their own game using basic block code. Seniors will be given a crash course on the usage of mobile applications ranging from eGov apps to lifestyle and social apps such as OneService, MyTransport, Healthy Buddy, Burpple, Channel NewsAsia and Skype.

7 “As part of CDCs’ continual outreach to professional bodies, we look forward to building new partnership with SiTF. The Tech4Community Festival is a good start of our engagement which not only involves 3Ps partnership (Private, Public and People) in creating IT awareness amongst our residents but also in providing opportunities for them to understand how we could use technology to help in our daily work or lives. In today’s competitive environment, it offers an opportunity for our residents to enhance their capabilities and employment opportunities,” said Mr Teo Ser Luck, Chairman of Mayors’ Committee and Mayor of North East District.

8 Added Ho Seong Kim, Managing Director, Accenture, and Organising Co-Chairman for Tech4Community: “Technology should be embraced by all, not just government and businesses. Over the years, the internet, smart phones and broadband have provided the community with greater access and interconnectivity and enabled them to improve their lives significantly. Our efforts to make technology easier to learn and understand should be all-inclusive, and Tech4Community is a vital step in helping us move a step closer to our vision.”

9 Your reporter and cameramen are cordially invited to attend the first- ever Tech4Community, an Information, Communications and Media (ICM) Festival on 19 November 2016. The details on the location of the Festival at the respective 5 districts are attached at Annex.
