Ismail dedicates this tournament: To everyone -- especially the teams competing here this weekend-- who thought that a young college student could have an idea worth pursuing -- thank you. To all the people who wrote questions, and took time from their busy schedules to help officiate this weekend -- thank you for helping make this tournament possible. And to everyone who said that a "tournament of dreams" would never work-- thank you, for driving us to work that much harder to see that it did. And thank you to the Yale Student Academic Competitions teams--for giving me some of the best times of my life, and for reining me in when necessary. And, finally, to my brother Ahmed--thank you. Without your support, I'd never have had the chance to do this. Emil Thomas Chuck dedicates this tournament: To my research advisors and thesis committee for allowing me the opportunity to organize tournaments at CWRU over the years without threats or ultimatums; To everyone who kept me sane while organizing this tournament, and to everyone whose help will keep me sane (at least for a few moments) this weekend; To the people who got me involved in this activity (via Academic Decathlon) ten years ago: my teachers at Caddo Parish Magnet High School (Shreveport, Louisiana), namely (in chronological order) Otto Sellers, Riley Bratton, Mary Rounds, Sonja Webb, Thad Pardue, and Cathy Sledge; To the past and present members of the CWRU College Trivia Club who patiently withstood all my storms and rants about organizing our team and our competitions; we all share in the rewards of hosting high-quality competitions like this one; To everyone who believed that a network like ours could work and help academic competition both at the high school and college level; To all the competitors at the high school tournaments I have hosted at Duke and CWRU since 1992, whose experience has prepared me for this event; Finally, to all the friends I have made through my involvement in academic competition, many of whom have dreamed with me about this moment: I wish all of you were here to see this. Thank you for making this weekend one I won't ever forget. Martin J. Dunlap dedicates this tournament: I'd like to dedicate this tournament foremost to Lisa. Thanks for all your support and for putting up with all these questions (as well as the answers) I'd also like to thank Mrs. Judith Gross my high school "Brain Brawl" coach for getting me into this competition in the first place. And in closing, thanks to my parents and the rest of my family for leaving all those books around for me to read.
